"Fully-fledged" might have been the wrong term to use, but regardless of whether people are interested in the singleplayer or not it's still a factor in it being a standalone game.

It certainly appears to have a more interesting single-player than any Battlefield since Bad Company. That's relative of course, it still looks pretty standard but the game's concept at least should keep things different enough.

I was edging towards a return to Call of Duty this year (haven't played one since MW2) but I'm really liking this Beta. Looking forward to seeing what Sledgehammer can do with it

Perhaps and whilst Visceral might be pretty decent at stories, I'd be gobsmacked if it was actually any good. And when 90+% of the players will only care about the MP mode anyway.

I hear what you're saying Alpha Andy (dat gamertag change 8-)) but the quality of the sp is besides Mafro's original point.
I've been watching plenty of beta footage and I don't get the hate. Perhaps the more 'pure' Battlefielders won't like the scaled down battling, but I think it looks good. A bit COD, mind.

Shame I can't change my NNID or PSN usernames though :x :fp:

I don't know, it just didn't feel very 'Heat-like' in its execution. :( (And I love that movie).

Not sure Heat-like would make for a good multiplayer game. In my mind that would mean slower movement and heavier weapons, which you just can't do in a videogame like this. It needs to be fast and frantic, but I still think they've done a good job. This is just one map though.

I think it's the 24th.

Genuine question. What does this offer over BF4?

Excellent. Of course it was just a beta but it felt very undercooked for a 2014 release. Actually might get a bit more hyped about this one now.

Yeah I presume it was BF4's awful start that made them delay it. EA :fp:

Maybe a mod can change title?

I hope part of this decision is based on the fact that with so many games released in October-November the publishers are cannibalising their sales. So releasing a major FPS in the first quarter instead of pre-Christmas is a good thing. I was going to cancel my order but now there is a lot more chance that I will buy this.
