This special edition launches on 16 February; no word on pricing or retailers yet. Bayonetta 1 is still a download, though.

If you prefer to buy from the eShop, buying Bayonetta 2 will grant you a discount for Bayonetta 1. Again, prices are TBC.

Edit: And check out this lovely artwork:

Matt, you’ve not played Bayonetta nor Fallout 3? *Worse* than jawa.

Just never been able to get past the tone of the series. I'm sure its a really good game but I dunno....... Not sure I can force myself into it.

I have to say, I never really understood the hype around Bayonetta either. The whole thing seemed a bit crazy and unrefined to me!

I am more excited about the prospect of other Wii U games on Switch including the 2 hi-def Zeldas, Donkey Kong etc.

Might pick this up. Played the first one on PC earlier this year as it was heavily discounted, but it wasn't quite suited to KB&M and I don't own a traditional controller. Bayonetta 3 in development is the icing on the cake.

Hope we get some more WiiU ports as I missed out on an entire generation of Nintendo goodness.

I've only ever played the demo of B1 back on the 360, enjoyed it but I recall it coming out at a busy time so never worked my way round to getting the full release. This seems like the perfect excuse to give the series another try!

As someone who never owned a WiiU I'm loving that lots of the best games are now making their way over to Switch.

I think the Bayo 1&2 limited edition version sold out in minutes on Amazon. So frustrating.

How much was it? The Steelbook looks nice (and the dual artwork regular case), but I can't say I'm interested in the stickers or 'verse cards'.

The standard version was up for £49.99 and the special edition was £69.99. Hopefully the prices will drop nearer to launch!

I had the special edition in my basket but then a message appeared saying it was no longer available :( . It sold out ridiculously quick... I now remember why I stopped trying to buy amiibo. Nintendo manufacture and supply :fp: .

The opposite of that.

Its probably the best 3rd Person Action game ever made. Its pretty much perfect.

I could never call it unrefined, it's busy sure. The fighting and combo mechanics are like maths, the more you know.

Pretty much every third person Platinum game has followed Bayonetta's systems and flow.

Bayo 2 is pretty strawberry floating good. Glad it is getting rereleased to a bigger audience. Lock down the framerate to 60fps and it will be the definitive version. Glad to see the existence of Bayo 3 as well.

I always bring this up, but I hope The Wonderful 101 gets a rerelease. It's such a fantastic game, I'm thinking it would have to be redesigned, and that's probably going to be why it won't be released again.

Well when Platinum were teasing Bayo coming to Switch they also teased W101 so it could be something we see announced at the January Direct?

I’m holding off ordering Bayo/Bayo 2 Switch at the moment. I want physical copies of both games so I’m hoping either the US will get both or an Asian English release will have both on individual carts

101 wouldn't have to be redesigned much, it had off TV play support. They could make the 2 screen sections split screen in a comic book style. There's Touch support which wasn't required either.

The American cart version also has Bayo 1 as a download.

If anyone wanted to pre-order the (UK / Europe) special edition and missed out at Amazon, it's now up at GAME - click here.

Not sure what the fuss is about as regards not having a physical cart for the 1st game, Bayonetta is exactly the type of game I want to have available to play at all times without having to worry about a cart.

Hopefully the pricing will be decent, but I'm definitely wanting 1 and 2 digitally to play whenever I want.

Some people like having the carts.

Destructoid wrote:Bayonetta 2 will cost $50 on the Nintendo Switch eShop. Once you buy the sequel, you'll then be able to get Bayonetta for $10.

If you purchase Bayonetta on the Switch eShop first, it'll cost $30, but you'll then be able to nab Bayonetta 2 for $30.

I’d anticipate a similar approach for UK/Europe, HSH... perhaps £50 for the two.

Great news!

Bayo 2 is probably the best game on Wii U. There, I said it.

Because it's annoying and a hassle. Storage space is finite and if you're getting lots of third party games you're going to need kept buying bigger storage or deleting and reinstalling games.

I'd say having to worry about a cart is annoying and a hassle.

Storage space is an issue no matter what.
