The BBC should axe 3 and 4 and consolidate all their programming to BBC1+2, Get some actual DJs on Radio 1 instead of overpaid celebrities, Put ads in all radio stations other than 2 and 5 and then have a 90s Sci-Fi hour on BBC2 every day at 6pm showing reruns of Star Trek, Buffy, Sliders, Backstep and The Xfiles.

I'd love to see a breakdown of the BBC's money and where it goes. Anyone know if that's available anywhere?
I wonder if they cut BBC 3 and BBC 4 (putting BBC 4's decent programmes on BBC 2), and some of the excessive numbers of radio stations they have, how much money it'd save.
The amount of repeats the BBC shows just seems to increase, so they must be saving some money on not making new programming.
I reckon they'll try and keep the Premier League highlights, as I'd imagine it's one of their bigger sports draws, but stuff like athletics, rowing, distance running, rugby and the like could well go.

All new daytime programming will shift to BBC One, with BBC Two showcasing repeats of peak-time programmes.
The BBC HD channel will close and be replaced with a single version of BBC Two in high definition.
No HD coverage of new BBC1 shows then? Very strange.

Probably but nobody wants to watch Dr Who on a Wednesday in HD when it's already only been shown in SD the previous Saturday.

They're making all these cuts in so many areas but the one that they refuse to make cuts in is the pay. I bet the guys at the top in the BBC have ridiculously high pay and equally ridiculous pensions on top of ridiculous benefits and allowances.

Me too. I watch Parliament on occasion.
As for the boys and girls at the top, it's the same situation in the Police/NHS/whatever. These people won't be firing themselves so we lose frontline services instead

At the moment there are 2 HD BBC channels. BBC One HD and BBC HD. So I assume BBC One HD will remain and continue showing HD coverage of BBC1 shows. While BBC HD gets replaced with BBC Two HD.

What's the alternative though? The bosses and 'stars' are never going to accept a pay-cut, so it makes sense to get rid of the services that have the lowest audiences (I'm guessing the ones I've mentioned have the least viewers/listeners). Would anyone really miss BBC 3? If there are programmes on any of those that are really that good, move them to a different channel.
