Got to say, Elite looks pretty damn good considering it's age.

That was a spec'd up version..... I can't believe we just jumped from Elite to Black & White .... only a good 20 years there :fp:

Hmm, some pretty obvious gaps there due to only looking at British games (and at the end they kind of threw that out when it didn't fit with what he was trying to say).

Not quite sure Tomb Raider had the impact that was suggested either.

Still, not a bad show I suppose.

Have to say that was really good. Pretty much summed up what games are all about and showed a lot of respect.

A first for British TV?

Thumb Candy is a good programme, it was channel 4 ages ago, presented by Iain Lee.

Look it up if this programme was of interest to you

No, the presenter was a complete tit throughout, dreadful 'documentary'.

Another disrespective show where the presenter couldn't go 10 seconds without cracking some unfunny joke.

Was a relief tonight for a TV show to finally take games seriously.

Whu-?

Anyway, on topic, this was good - not too patronising, obviously focusing purely on British games it missed a number of significant titles, but it was interesting, even-handed and worthwhile. Nice one, BBC Four.

The guy presenting it was awful! I was more hoping for a timeline of games since creation. Meh I have spent hours watching bigger crap *cough* 2012 *cough.

How so, I thought he was spot on.

We need more games programmes like this.

I thought he was a bit 'artsy' and a bit dramatic myself.

That's what I liked about it, it's about time games were shown this way on TV rather than the gash we've put up with since GamesMaster. Something respectful for once.

I agree. You're mad wrong about Brooker, though. Gameswipe wasn't a documentary, either.

Thought it was pretty good, though there were a few blank holes which were probably down to availabilty of interviewee/length of program. Rare was a notable omission.

The point of the show was to show the evolution of British gaming and its impact, Rare doesn't fit into this.

Only caught a little bit of this, didn't seem too bad. Might watch the rest on iPlayer tomorrow.
