I'm pretty sure they don't have either of those. You're thinking of ITV.

It's coming back to TV. Quite surprising, I thought the BBC would be getting chopped up by the government by now.

I just noticed this was a Scotty thread. :capnscotty:

:capnscotty: He'd have been proud of you.

Much like any channel, BBC3 had its fair share of really good stuff and really poor stuff, back in the day it was a staple channel into the evening for me as the Family Guy/American Dad combo was good background telly.

BBC2 used to have Quantum Leap. But I wouldn't say "oh boy!" if we were talking about it.

If you haven’t seen People Just Do Nothing, it would be in your better interest to rectify that oversight. Great show.

I really don't see the point of bringing this channel back. The current method of on-demand via iPlayer and showcasing the best stuff on BBC1 or 2 feels better suited to the target demographic and the way TV is heading. Very rarely do I watch dramas or sitcoms on linear TV, which is predominantly what 3 was/is all about. For example I'm currently watching Two Doors Down on BBC iPlayer (best sitcom BBC has put out for years) and I couldn't tell you when it goes out on regular TV, nor does it matter.

I bet during sports programming it'll be used as another overflow channel like 4.

Its about visibility. Out of sight, out of mind. When BBC Three went off air, it was one of the most watched channels. This will likely bring it back to those days. We are moving towards streaming, but in the same way you can still buy physical media for gaming...we ain't there yet.

I think event TV will always have a place but obviously reduced.

I quite like how a few BBC shows recently had the first episode on BBC 1 with the whole series available on demand at the same time.

Also some times it is nice to know something is on at X time rather than scrolling trying to find something
