I'm sure the ants will enjoy their steak and burgers.

Cooking for 10 people this afternoon, feeling the pressure a bit as its only my second time using a charcoal BBQ, and the last time was just for me and the missus. Any tips for large quantities of meat?

Be patient. Make sure the coals are grey before putting any food on. It can take a while. It mightn't look like its hot but it is.

Coat the grill in a bit of oil.

When you first put the meat on dont move it. You need to seal the outside otherwise it'll stick and tear if you move it.

Only turn the meat once. Dont squeeze it down with a spatula.

Worst thing you can do is to start pounding your meat while it's on the BBQ.

Good advice thanks guys, especially the bit about pounding my meat, might not go down well with the guests.

It can be difficult to handle but you have to just grip the shaft as best you can and then force it in. The key is lots and lots of lube.

Oh wait, wrong thread.
