Helping a 50 year old man with crippling depression — I was his manager, I gave him the worst possible rating in his end of year review, along with a handful of bollockings. It's a heavy one. I spent a lot of time dealing with fellow managers telling me to sack him. I refused and drew my fair share of disdain. Despite the outcome, to this day I retain a reputation as 'the soft one' among colleagues and 'the pussy manager' among closer peers. I am defiantly proud of that reputation and will always fight for my individual team members in the face of the corporate machine :wub:
