I think it can be classed as shitty for a few reasons:

-Sony did nothing to address the issues they are facing with the Vita and the largely negative coverage of the Vita only adds to their troubles
-Nintendo didn't show off a Wii Sports like title for the Wii-U which instantly showed just how big a gamechanger their new controller could be
-Almost nothing of interest for Kinect which was disappointing as you' expect dev to be used to it by now
-Microsofts increasingly narrow focus on a handful of brands isn't a good thing
-Too much emphasis was placed on violent games his year with stuff like Sly 4 marginalised as a result

You mean Nintendoland?
Kinect was never going to work for anything other than dancing games/other party style games as games require you to hold something or it feels weird.
Microsoft have only ever had a handful of brands, everything else is Third Party
Violence and Sex sells to the video game press apparently. It's sad, but it's true.

Also lots of people aren't interested in Vita, why would they want to hear about it at the press conference?

-Of those 25 games how many were new or likely to sell the console to people who weren't already interested? Last summer the 3DS was struggling and Nintendo took decisive action by dropping the price and showing a load of really good looking new 3DS games at E3 last year and that seems to have turned the 3DS around. Sonys response to the Vitas problems was very weak.

-Absolute nonsense. Just look at what modders are doing with it on the homebrew scene or the insane looking Steel Batallion. I want more of that.
-Their focus has unquestionably narrowed as this generation has gone on. Where is the next Kameo, Viva Piñata, Banjo Kazooie or Blue Dragon?
-It's not a good thing though and we shouldntnjust accept that this is how it should be while the only alternative at retail seems to be another dancing game or Nintendo products. It's not as bad on the downloadable side but it's still valid to say I want more than gore. Blaming it on the press is ridiculous as well as plenty of outlets are reporting negatively on the dominance of violence at E3.

Conferences were crap but there's plenty go quality games to look forward to.

The problem with this year's E3 is that the big publishers (outside of Nintendo) seem to be shouting "We want the dollars from the CoD causals!" Nintendo, on the other hand, seems to be gunning for the more "traditional" casual gamer. If you're not either of these types of casual gamer, no-one wants to do business with you, you can go get lost, we only want the casual dollar.

No offence, but you are talking bollocks. There has been quite a lot of hardcore games announced for the future of late.

A lot of unique downloadable games from PSN (great to see Sony continueing this support and investing in first party content)

I'm sure there are a few more but you get the gist. More will probably be announced up until the end of this year as well. Considering this is the last eighteen or so months of this generation, it's pretty good and what I am struck by is the amount of orginal titles whereas last year was a sequel-o-thon. The dying year of the gen before this one was a death march so I'm glad it's not happening again.

Think ZombiU should probably come in there somewhere too. A game where you die and have to start from scratch isn't really what I'd class as a "casual" game.
