Now that it's all over, I'm not one bit excited whereas normally it's one of my favourite times of the year. Just gooseberry fool all 'round, really.

Plenty of gooseberry fool, identical games. strawberry float Watch Dogs, I started watching the trailer;thought it looked a little interesting, then skipped to halfway through. Oh goody, a man is shooting other mans from behind some cover from a 3rd person view! GAMING IS SAVED.

Company of Heroes 2 is the only thing I'm excited about.

Nah! The conferences were a bit shite, but there is plenty to look forward to. Personal Highlights for me are -

Dishonered (pc)
Star Wars 1313 (PC)
Hawken (PC)
The Last Of Us (PS3)
Assassins Creed 3 (PC)
Dead Space 3 (PC)
Pikmin 3 (Wii U)
Watch Dogs (PC)
Halo 4 (360)
Borderlands 2 (PC)
New Super Mario Bros. U (Wii U)
Metro Last Light (PC)
Tomb Raider (PC)
Darksiders II (PC)
XCOM: Enemy Unknown (PC)
Far Cry 3 (PC)
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate (NDS)
Crysis 3 (PC)
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Dawnguard (PC)
Deadlight (360)
Bioshock Infinite (PC)

Next year they announce the next gen. That's fine by me.

Yeah, loads of stuff outside the godawful conferences, and for all that they were terrible, each one had moments worth watching. Or moment singular in a couple of cases.

Well I'd agree. There was no game other than Halo 4 that I was even remotely bothered about.

When was this shown?

Overall this years E3 was gooseberry fool, only because there was a serious lack of surprises and neither of the big two (MS & Sony) showed us anything next gen. Saying that, thankfully there are a few titles that I'm looking forward to.

Nothing really groundbreaking or impressive this year, it really feels like the entire industry is just treading water until the next gen appears.

This. I just think people had ridiculously high expectations for each conference and as a result set themselves up for disappointment, particularly the Nintendo one which wasn't even the worst of the big three.

Given the originality of the premise, I would have expected something a bit cleverer than "lol it's just another TPS."

Something like hacking police computers, using voice modulation in the game (optional voice feature!) to mimic their dispatcher and use the police against the guys out to get you while your man legs it.

Great, interesting ideas that can only be included in a full-budget retail game when in service to TPS gameplay.
