My buddy has sent me some very nice-looking beers. I'll be able to crack these open in the evening. I have quite a selection, and very much look forward to trying them, and to reading everyone's posts and opinions later!

Thanks to my buddy - three beers I haven't tasted, all Japanese. I'm not sure I've had any Japanese beer before, so looking forward to these (especially the Japanese black lager...):

Errkal, my buddy, has sent me five beers. Thank you! I'm trying them all tonight, so I'll post reviews as I try them.

First is the DIPA, Party at the Moon Tower by Latitude 42 Brewing Company.

Image

Its colour is on the lighter side of IPA, and it has a nice, kinda sharp taste with a bit of tang, kinda like a grapefruit. It's decently bitter, and I enjoyed it.

Second is the darker of the two red ales, Red Noir by Yellowbelly.

Image

The colour of this one is remarkably similar to cola, or black tea. I didn't enjoy this one as much, as it had a somewhat strong taste of yeast, but besides that, it has a sweet and malty taste.

Third is Burning Sun by Gonzo's Biggdogg.

Image

This was a much more enjoyable red ale for me. It's a little sharp, hoppy, and sweet. I could swear I could taste sweetcorn in there somewhere.

Last one I'll have today, it's far far too hot for a heavy coffee beer.

Image

Bloody love this beer, slightly thick but not too much, malty caramel with a creamy kind of something. Wonderful stuff, love beavertown.

This beer is the one I've been looking forward to the most. Vanilla Porter, by Gonzo's Biggdogg.

Image

The smell of vanilla is apparent as soon as you open the can. It doesn't taste like it smells, rather it tastes like a normal porter does, only a little sweeter. The way the head fizzes away reminds me of soda.

Last, but by no means least, is the barleywine. Al Abordaje, by Brewdog and La Pirata.

Image

The flavour is strong and powerful, with hints of toffee, liquorice, and fruit. This is a pretty pleasant barleywine.

Dual's spoiled me rotten so i may be updating this thread for quite some time

right first up, one i drank during the Tottenham - Man Utd match
Image
pretty standard - tasted like larger to me. very nice but didnt make me smack my lips

Image
i liked this a bit more - i think this would be a good one to get a larger drinker into IPAs, its not too much of a difference.
