Always find it interesting that "comedy" films never seem to earn the same respect as other genres. Ghostbusters is a stone cold classic and should have got much higher.
Similarly today's scapegoat appears to be Life of Brian which is an exquisite creation that deserves to outlast plenty of the other films which remain. It certainly achieves more of value with bits like "what have the Romans done for us" or the stoning scene than Two Towers does with, what ... shield surfing?

I'm not arsed where any of the LoTr films end up.
This list lost any claim to be definitive by omitting Alien.
However, listening to the whiny banana splits go "blah blah Two towers is gooseberry fool" has been great.
All three are masterpieces. Not decent or good but strawberry floating great. The opinions of trolling halfwits won't change that.
Bleating about them every vote says more about your taste and ability to judge films than anything else.
