I rarely watch films more than once, and yet somehow I've built up a pretty huge collection of DVDs. I'm not so bothered about the amount spent on them, most of the time it was cheaper to buy them than rent. I'm running out of room though, so I've decided to offload most of them, even though I know I'll get almost nothing. I'll never watch them again, and the handful of stuff I would want to watch multiple times, I'll re-buy on Blu Ray.

I was just wondering if there's anywhere better than Ebay? Do any high street stores take DVDs like they do games? Or how about somewhere like Cash Generator? I'm not sure how much chance they have of selling some of them, but I wouldn't even mind getting a bit less to avoid the hassle of listing/posting them all.

Cex take DVD's, they have all their prices on their website. Although I have heard prices in store have varied to those shown on the website.

Check the prices here too:

All done online. I haven't used them myself, but a work colleague sold loads of CDs to them.

Try using http://www.footsnake.com. They compare your unwanted DVDs, Blu-rays, CDs and Books against a number of popular merchants (MusicMagpie, Ziffit...). Saves you time and enables you to source the best price.

I once sold a bunch of DVDs to Music Magpie and while standard film tended to yield between £0.50 and £2.00 a lot of the anime and wrestling DVDs I sold them netted me £6.00-£8.00 each.

I took a load of DVDs to CEX recently and got 1p for most of them (including a boxset!). Admittedly most were really duff movies my girlfriend was getting rid of, but even some fairly decent blu rays I was never gonna watch again only netted 50p or so each.

Maybe some of the online offers would be better.

My advice would be to download the CEX and MusicMagpie apps and scan everything into both of them. I recently cleared all my DVDs and there were some that were 1p at CEX and 50p from MM and vice versa. By splitting my stuff between the two of them I was pretty happy with the prices.
