Legend of Mana really sticks out on the square list as it was terrible.

Only thing stopping me from making a case for them is their early stuff which I'm not interested in, but even so there's no doubting that that's a storied run. How much of a combo breaker, in terms of quality, were the racing spin-offs?

Aye I'd split that into 2 tbh, after CTR and before Uncharted. Both are amazing.

What about Insomniac from Spyro through to Reistance 3, or Sucker Punch from Rocket Robot on Wheels to present.

How are Rare winning this? There's some real trash in their output from that era.

Killer Instinct is shite in any form, Blast Corps is a laugh but is pretty much the epitome of a 7/10 game, Banjo is overrated, Jet Force Gemini is a truly terrible game, Donkey Kong 64 is a collect-athon nightmare, and Conker is just :fp:

There are also a load of really shite GameBoy games that Rare released over that era, any one of which is a big enough combo breaker for me.

Nintendo's run on the N64 is:

1080 Snowboarding, F-Zero X, Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, MK64, Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Stadium 2, Starfox 64, Super Mario 64, Wave Race 64 and Yoshi’s Story

How are Retro Studios not on there?

I can’t really comment on Square / Kojima / Yakuza studios, but Retro’s run of, MP1-3 and DKCR-TF are a better run of 5 games than anything else in the poll.

Jet Force Gemini and DK64 clearly are one stumbling block for Rare, but a lot of those games were made by different teams also weren’t they?

Naughty Dog and From Software are good shouts, though neither I’d say are as strong as Retro from MP1 to present.

If you think Retro deserve to be there then I'd like to add Bungie.

I would have said Turn 10/Playground Games but Forza 7 kind of ruined it. Also Valve 1998-2010, back when they made games but before they ruined TF2.

Ultimate Play The Game, the precursor of Rare, had an amazing run in 1983 and 1984 with consecutive releases of Lunar Jetman, Atic Atac, Sabre Wulf, Underworlde and Knight Lore. They were red-hot on the ZX Spectrum during this period.

Obsidian! There are some games in there I know nothing of (Dungeon Siege III) and others which I've never heard of (Skyforge, Armored Warfare) but the vast majority of their games have all been pretty amazing, no? Even Alpha Protocol has its fans.
