Retail and download combined

1 - FIFA 18 - Electronic Arts
2 - Call Of Duty: WWII - Activision Blizzard
3 - Grand Theft Auto V - Rockstar/Take 2
4 - Assassin's Creed Origins - Ubisoft
5 - Star Wars Battlefront II - Electronic Arts
6 - Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy - Activision Blizzard
7 - Destiny 2 - Activision Blizzard
8 - Gran Turismo: Sport - Sony Computer Ent.
9 - Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands - Ubisoft
10 - Horizon Zero Dawn - Sony Computer Entertainment

Another million for GTA V :datass:

Crash Bandicoot and Gran Turismo Sport are pretty surprising, I thought they'd bomb.

Looks like that's just retail by the sounds of the article?

I'm so out of step with "mainstream gaming" if that list is anything to go by - I don't own any of those games and none of them appeal to me either!

I think that list is just retail ("boxed") game sales according to the news story; not digital sales.

I am surprised that second-hand sales fell by 15% compared to 2016.

I've posted combined boxed+retail above, only difference it makes is GT Sport and Ghost Recon swap places.

I was looking at a list earlier today which listed the best-selling chart combining all media i.e. film, music and games in terms of units sold. And, dang it, now I can't trace it!

Ghost Recon?!? It was trash. Vapid uninspired open world tedium.

I’m genuinely surprised at the Crash Bandicoot outselling GT: Sport and Horizon Zero Dawn. I know it was a budget price but those sales show there must be a lot of people who feel nostalgic for the franchise.

GTAV! The success of Online makes me wonder how this will affect VI.

Hopefully someone in government has their head screwed on and has woken up to the fact the UK should be investing very heavily in this area.

Quite a bit of 90snostalgia around lately, also in Hollywood and fashion.

Spyro remake up next if rumours at to be believed.

I didn't play the previous 2 AC games. Origins was brilliant. Loved HZD, too. Didn't feel like playing either game before they released (loved the concept of HZD but worried GG wouldn't be able to deliver an interesting game) but I'm glad I ignored my doubts and tried 'em anyway.

I don’t expect Spyro to do quite as well as Crash Bandicoot as it was never as popular as Crash back in the day. Spyro in comparison graced very few magazine covers (despite scoring marginally higher).

I’m expecting Resident Evil 2 to be absolutely monumental as long as Capcom don’t balls it up or remake it in a way the majority don’t like. I’m sure it was the highest grossing game of 98. I remember there being a Titanic (movie) comparison in there somewhere.

Oh, man, I hope so. Personally I had no interest in the Crash remake but a Spyro one? I'd be well excited about that!

And potentially multi-platform too. Think the rumours are it's a one year timed exclusive for Playstation before it'll be ported to other platforms as well.

Sony did good as did Crash, the rest of the list is your typical UK buying tosh.
Seriously everyone must have a dozen copies of GTA V by now.

Imagine how those GTA V sales would increase with a Switch port.

Persona 5 getting #1 the week it released is the only thing that matters

it shouldn't be a surprise that the general buying masses are plebs

It'd be a perfect fit on the Switch.
