While there certainly seems to be loads of fantastic games in recent years I find myself in the awkward position of being physically unable to play the vast majority of them due to the degenerative nature of my disability.

I have pretty much accepted this fact but there are times when I get a little frustrated when I see an awesome looking new game that I know I can't play. It also really annoys me when people whinge about framerate dropping slightly below 60fps, so strawberry floating what, at least they get to play the damn thing.

HSH, you're right, dude. There are literally too many decent-looking games coming out during March and April... and that's not even looking at the Store sales.

In an eight-week period we will have had Horizon Zero Dawn, Zelda Breath of the Wild, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Nier: Automata, Lego Worlds, Mass Effect Andromeda, Dark Souls III The Ringed City DLC, PaRappa the Rapper Remastered, Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap, LocoRoco Remastered, Persona 5, Lego City Undercover, Yooka-Laylee (grrr!), Puyo Puyo Tetris, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 and Kingdom Hearts HD Remix....and many more. Oh, and a new Nintendo console!

All that on the back of Resident Evil 7, For Honor and Sniper Elite 4 - and the sales - in January and February.

This truly is a great time for games :toot: . Potentially stupidly expensive :dread: ... but great!

Isn't Persona one of those life consuming games?

I'm already humming the tunes at work and I don't even have it yet.

I am amassing a huge library of games (thanks to GWG (and the 360 backwards compatability!), PS+ and EA Access) without hardly ever playing any of them. With work and a baby at home, I just don’t have much time anymore to get stuck into anything.

The wife is going back to work soon though and my lad will be in a nursery on Tuesdays. Any holiday I book off in future will be booked for a Tuesday. ;)

With my back log and the slew of releases, it's really got to the point where I'm not really bothered about new releases (apart from a very select few). It's a good situation to be in as it's exciting but there's just no way (with a 55hr+ job and family commitments) that I can even think about keeping up with what's available.

My gaming time has shrunk dramatically because of new work committments so i've become a lot more discerning about what i play - plus with the witcher 2 + 3, dragon age and a few other big rpgs i'm set for the year regardless of new releases. By the time i'm through the above, stuff like mass effect andromeda or shadow of war will be under £15 goty editions from all good key sellers.

Breath of the Wild has definitely made me realise that I can make more time for gaming than I have been doing, probably managed to play at least around 2 hours of that every day since it came out. Just realised I normally spend more of that potential gaming time in the evening just aimlessly browsing the internet instead, hopefully I can manage to commit similar amounts of time to other games once I'm done with Breath of the Wild and actually make some proper progress into my backlog.

Jamo, man, I can relate to that. I spend way more time reading about games than actually playing them :fp: .

Ridiculous isn't it :fp: I never mean to sit down for long, just have a coffee and a browse of the forum etc. but before I know it I've wasted 2 hours (and as you say, a good chunk of that reading about games). Once I'm done with Breath of the Wild I'm going to make sure to find at least an hour every evening to play something!

This.

Despite my grumblings about my job, I'm sure I would be amazed at the time I spend reading about games rather than actually playing them!
