Best value subscription?

What subscription do you have that you consider the best value for money?

For me the easy winner is Apple TV+.
I never thought I'd ever say something by Apple was good value but the sheer amount of amazing content on Apple TV is well worth the price.

For All Mankind, Severance, Silo and Foundation are 4 absolute stone cold classic series that I'd have had zero regret paying for the DVD of back in the day.
Even after the price increase to £90 for a year I see that as a bloody bargain.

What gets your vote?

You don’t have to. Only if you want it emptied.

You can’t dispose of dead prostitutes in For All Mankind.

I like all four of those shows but Severance is the only one I'd promote the Apple subscription for. The rest are all comfortably mid tier series.

I don't know what the titles were in my brother's stash, most of the mag covers were missing.

To be serious, I think Crisp is correct and incorrect at the same time. AppleTV has some of the highest quality shows, but it doesn't have the quantity to make it worthwhile to permanently subscribe to. It's best to let the shows you want to watch build up and then binge them all in a month.

Stuff like Netflix/Prime are lower quality, but there's usually always something on there to watch, even if it's just for background noise.

AppleTv is great value because you can always get it for free for a few months and catch up on the small number of good shows they've put up since you last had it.

Great question, Jawa, but where's the poll?

The obvious answer is none of them and get a hacked Firestick instead :capnscotty:

With the empty bin you don't have to endure those two awful son characters.

Disney+ for us is the winner.

Great selection of stuff for the kids, Great collection of old action movies (and star wars, and the bear) for me and a great collection of documentaries and nature programmes for the missus.

We really could probably get by just on Disney+ to be honest with you.

In terms of video streaming, Disney+ is the one we probably get the most use out because my son absolutely loves Toy Story and they obviously have all 4 movies plus other bits and pieces.

Spotify is easily the best value subscription for me though, in terms of £ per hour used. And thanks to how much they underpay artists the choice is brilliant, much better than individual video streaming sites.
