Did we watch the same conference?

Yeah. It wasn't even the best conference from yesterday.

Different strokes for different folks! I enjoyed watching the Xbox conference. Entertaining, nice games showed. Forza Horizon 4 has the potential to do what Drive Club aspired to do. But on reflection there were not enough exclusives games that said 'buy an Xbox.' Also not enough talk about the XBO X. For me, Bethesda's was snappy and fun. TES: Blades will be playable VR - that's a win for me. And they teased of Starfield and TES: VI. Yes the series is one of my absolute favourites - so that nailed it for me!

But Bethesda didn't have Cyberpunk and it#s all Taf cared about ;)

Almost entirely accurate.

If you strip it back to just the number of titles mentioned that are personally of great interest to me I would say Bethesda was the best so far, but it achieved little more than a press release saying:

"We are working on the following X games, they will be out in the future"

In terms of having actual content to show and going through it in an interesting way I would say the Bethesda conference was the worst so far.

It was a decent showing from Bethesda with some nice looking stuff coming out, but was a bit disappointed that there wasn't a new game from Arkane studios but I should imagine they're looking to the future and working on next gen stuff like many other studios.

I enjoyed catching up on it, Andrew WK was peak E3 and I loved it.

Rage 2 with Avalanche has me very interested and I am excited for Fallout 76

Also the Alexa Skyrim skit was gold

Rage2 looked really good, very Doom like, I can see myself nabbing that despite having no history with the franchise. Nice to hear Doom 2 is coming, but no footage was a bit crap and makes you question why bother announcing it. The Prey stuff was really cool, might jump in again to new game+, the trailer for the Moon thing was great and the idea of walking around on that station in VR is very appealing. Surprised Prey is still being supported given the lukewarm reception, but it’s a great game so hopefully it will get more eyes on it. More Wolfenstein is great, but again, would have been better to see actual footage. I thought the comedy was pitched well throughout, making it a very watchable conference. I’ve no interest in Fallout so skipped through most of that and will refer to fans of the series for how good a showing it was. The Starfield and Elder Scrolls announcements were pretty much bullshit. Why do that for stuff that’s over 2 years away.

Shame about the lack of new games coming soon but overall a really solid conference and a huge improvement on the weirdness of last year.

7/10

I was perfectly happy with it. It was a decent showing, with plenty of stuff I'm interested in. I would have prefered to see more gameplay, especially from Doom as I expect it's not too far out at this point (First half 2019 I would think), but Starfield and ESVI are the absolute definition of Teaser trailers before Hollywood warped that term to mean "1st Trailer". I doubt we'll see more until next E3.

Fallout 76 doesn't look like I expected it to and I was pleasantly surprised by it. Thought it looked perfectly fine and with the upgraded engine, massive map and new storyline I'm expecting I'll end up getting it at some point. I feel that some people were expecting a full "proper" Fallout game but the leaks said from the start it was going to be an online, survival based game which is exactly what it looks to be. So I was happy enough with it. Ultimately they're trying new things with the IP that they have so I'm interested to see how that turns out.

ES: Blades had me laughing at it initially, but once they announced the VR and console support as well I was sold. It'll be interesting to see how they monetize that though.

Rage is looking like it's going to be a must buy for me. Got very heavy Bulletstorm vibes from it.

I was surprised to see more Wolfenstein coming and the VR game they're making as well intrigues me. Looking forward to both of them.

So a decent showing all round. Probably a 7/10 for me as more footage would have been good and the SF/ES reveals felt a bit lacklustre, but otherwise solid with plenty that I'm interested in. Didn't feel let down for staying up at all. It's E3 week and it's what I do, disappointment or not.

I thought it was a good conference.

Seemed to have something for every fan of Bethesda. (Except maybe Fallout)
