I think that all the Germans will be killed. Before it was just Kai being a pain in the arse, now the foreman guy is drunkenly revealing plans? Too risky to let any of them live, Mike or maybe some of Gus’s other men will take them all out as soon as the job has been completed.

This is what I'm thinking. Especially given how much their showing the relationship between Mike and the foreman (can't remember his name).

Yep.

I actually thought it before the foreman strawberry floated up, as soon as Mike walked into the strip club and looked annoyed (which is his usual face to be fair  ), I thought that the Germans are all going to end up dead. Kai and the foreman then just confirmed it to me with their actions during the episode.

Yeah's there's no way these Germans are getting out of this alive.

Our breaking bad rewatch seems to be perfectly in poetry.gif with this. We've just watched box cutter, and the parallel is Gus' guy in the lab going to Gale's house And he asks if he was spotted, to which he replies yes but it doesn't matter. Gus then comes in and kills him (And Mike is so shocked he pulls his gun on Gus).

EDIT: Also the last ep is called Winner. I can’t guess what will happen that ep but it sounds ominous

Maybe Kim wins $100million on the lottery and she moves to Germany with a group of happy workers?

I don’t know, I think the show will surprise us with what happens to her as it seems too obvious that she will die/go to prison.

My guess is she will need to disappear and that’s where Saul finds out the details of the vacuum cleaner repair guy
.

There's always the possibility that Kim and Saul were still together during Breaking Bad, we just never saw it.

Caught up with the last episode now, some great moments but I still can't shake the feeling that some of the rigour that once went into the story and plotting of the show has been lost this year.

I found it increasingly difficult to rationalise the behaviour of both Kim and Jimmy in this latest episode.

what exactly were their motivations for the whole Huel scam? Why is Jimmy risking his chance at getting his license to operate as a lawyer back by committing these crimes? Why is Kim risking losing everything she has at S&C? Everything that just a couple of episodes she took the big decision to take over running with Jimmy - turning back on this now just undermines the impact of that ealier moment.

Huel is just a guy Jimmy paid to slip a phone in his brothers pocket and has acted as muscle for him selling a few phones, he's not done anything to deserve the level of devotion and effort that Jimmy and Kim seem prepared to put in to stop him getting what is ultimately just a bit of jail time.

Jimmy's previous scams have all been undertaken with an obvious and tangible benefit to him, at his core he's a selfish guy and is prepared to take advantage of others for his own gain - that's his whole schtick. This scam for Huel doesn't fit with that at all. He's risking losing both his own livelihood and Kim's, they must have spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars on running the scam (buying gooseberry fool loads of stationary, bus tickets for Jimmy to travel all the way from New Mexico to Louisiana and back, paying all the people to write the letters, posting all of the letters, setting up the website, use of all those phones, paying the students to answer the phones, paying for Kim's associates to intimidate the opposition...) not to mention the time investment required of them both!

It was certainly fun to watch it all play out, but it didn't make much sense in my view!

I think it's just showing that Jimmy is a deviant and he enjoys it. Kim is in love with Jimmy and she wants to do the pro bono work, and she's pissed off with the cunty prosecutor for pursuing over the top jail terms for what should be a misdemeanour (hitting an unknown person with a bag of sandwiches, come on!). So she wants to get on over on this woman and letting Jimmy do his thing reminds her of the spark in their relationship when they were scamming the guys in the pub, because they obviously haven't been sleeping together since Jimmy didn't seem to care about his brothers death which offset Kim. So now they are entering the romance part of their relationship again by doing some edgy stuff. And that's where they'll probably fall. It's a romance thing and that can never be explained or justified Jen! This is reflective of the kind of strange behaviour people present after grieving as it changes their reflections on life.

Holy gooseberry fool, now that was some episode

Again Chuck strawberry floated Jimmy beyond the grave. Jimmy never really mattered all that much to Chuck. The scene with Kim and Jimmy afterwards was really heartwrenching :( Now say hello to Saul, the Criminal Lawyer

Good episode, very Truman show at the end too.

Also hector's bell origin story

The parrellel with our breaking bad rewatch is crazy at the moment. You've had the above origin thing, then in BB we go in to the same home and there is a huge shot of the bell, then we get the flashback of hectors killing gus' partner. Compare that to BCS where we're now seeing Gus slowly exact his revenge.

The scam pulled this week with the Mesa Verde branch fell flat for me. There are no real stakes, because Mesa Verde had already conceded that it would be impossible for Kim to 'pull another rabbit out the hat', and she is firmly in their good books. They're also scamming sitting ducks - it would be nice to see them pull a trick on someone smart, or who they actually underestimate.

It's an escalation of behaviour, scamming just for the thrill of it rather than out of any necessity. The ease with which they are pulling them off is likely going to make them complacent which will contribute to the eventual downfall.

Agreed. Everything Kim has done so far she can justify to herself. She can get the thrill of scamming while also being “moral”. Helping Huell was a good deed as the sentence was way too harsh. Getting Mesa Verde bigger premises was fine because it would please her bosses and it doesn’t really hurt anybody else if the bank is slightly bigger than originally planned.

Jimmy is pushing her to do more though, he wants to make money from it, rather than just helping a guy out or pleasing her boss. I think we all suspect that something will happen to Kim between now and the start of Breaking Bad and so I would imagine that Jimmy will get his way.
