There will be repercussions when the bank gets torn down for being too big though

Why? The plans held by the planning office will show that the bank is the correct size.

Great episode overall which is a relief after the last felt a bit flat for me.

I agree that the planning office scam was a bit of a weak scenario and like last week's "let's spend tonnes of cash, expend loads of effort and and risk our careers for little tangible benefit" scam with Huel it just didn't feel right or justified for the characters.

Seeing Jimmy getting turned down by the review panel was a fantastic moment, and cuts to the heart of why he ends up where he does. Jimmy IS insincere, there's just no getting away from it. Ultimately he's always out for number one and will do what he likes to get what he wants. Chuck was a twat in many ways but fundamentally believed in the law and that in the hands of honest people it was a force for good. Jimmy doesn't, he sees the law as just another tool to be used for his own purposes and justifies it by believing his own code and beliefs are superior to other people's. Chuck knew this and knew from harsh experience that it was part of Jimmy's character which will never change.

The beautiful thing we are seeing play out this season is that now Kim is starting to see it too, "you're always down" - such a fantastic line that sums up Jimmy. Despite the many facades he attempts to put up he will always be Slippin' Jimmy, a dishonest man who uses his talents in dubious or downright illegal ways and who is unable to appreciate or conceive of the damage those talents cause to others. Any consequences are rationalised as the world failing him and not vice versa, see continuing to pick on Kim for not wanting to share an office with him after she has laid out the innumerable ways in which she has bent over backwards to support him!

Man, what an ending line and what an absolute bastard Jimmy is, Poor Kim doesn't feel like she knows the guy. Mike killing the German guy was horrible, but he had to.

Yeah, you could tell that Mike really didn’t want to do it.

It wasn’t an action packed finale, but I loved it.

Great finale. Where did Jimmy get enough money to write that cheque though?

The next season will be fantastic now that Jimmy has gone and Saul is going to be fully unleashed.

I wish I'd been reading this thread throughout the series! It was so brilliant as always.

For a moment I was worried Mike was going to do a Walter and help the poor German idiot escape, but that would have been completely out of character, I don't really see any other way it could've gone.

I feel like Season 5 is the first season they could legitimately have Jesse Pinkman in. The age gap might be a bit of a problem though.

Can’t see room for Walter White in the BCS universe tbh. Even if he is still alive in the Gene era.

Finally caught up with the ending to this.

Whilst this is still undeniably one of the greatest things on television I have to say that this was probably my least favourite season of BCS so far. There were just a few parts that didn't ring true for me character or motivation wise and that broke the spell to a certain degree. It felt like they hadn't been quite as thorough in breaking the stories in the writers room and so things just didn't hang together as well as on previous seasons and on BB.

As I say it's still fantastic and they'd have to start getting a hell of a lot more wrong than this to get me switching off, but I will be going into the next season with a smidge of concern which is not something I was ever expecting to do.

This last season might be seen in retrospect as a bridging one to BB, it certainly ends that way.

Rather than necro bump the breaking bad thread, I'm going semi off topic and saying how our re watch is going.

We've just watched Ozymandias and granite state back to back. God tier television, absolutely amazing stuff. One episode left :(

I really hope we get some more post BB stuff in BCS.

Doublepostsorry.

The B&W scenes in BCS have all been fantastic. I'm wondering what the end for Saul is. I hope we see an end, whether that be in another flashforward of X years or in the "present" of post-BB fallout. He's been such a fascinating character from the moment we first saw him.

It's fantastic, the only truly weak episode being fly, which now watching again I realise it is pure filler.

It was funny to hear Saul saying if he's lucky he'll be managing a cinebon

From the flashforward in the latest season, my guess is that people are still looking for Saul and he is going to come to a bad end.
