I'm not an artist but I absolutely love that style from the first two pieces and the CD cove. Very unique and I'm sure it will pay the bills for you in the future. I also love the girl in the ice cream and the undercurrent of commentary. Just one question the parent with the child photo looks great, but was it staged, if it wasn't how did you go about taking it? But really good stuff. Good luck mate!

Thankfully it already pays my bills at the moment :D (not all fun stuff like this though, far from it, mostly corporate stuff/websites) Appreciate the kind words mate.

As for the photo - It wasn't staged, it is edited though, I took it in Oxford street, London. Here's the original: http://puu.sh/1xJmG

Honest question - can you afford to live independently on your current clientele and portfolio, and if so, how do you sustain that?

I'm asking because I would like to try. I temp at the moment but I would much rather be self employed or find some kind of creative agency.

My portfolio is super outdated, have been meaning to redesign it but haven't had the time (I have but have just been playing games too much and procrastinating lol) most of the work I do I wouldn't put on there anyway though. as it's boring crap.

As for sustaining a steady income, I do work for several agency's who outsource work to me, I'm also a top ranked designer on peopleperhour.com which gets me a bunch of work, when people search for 'graphic designer' under 'find freelancers' I'm on the first page. I get 10-20 messages a day on there that are mostly garbage jobs with low budgets, but from the 1 or 2 that are okay, I give them my email and secure jobs that way. I also have a bunch of ongoing clients I do work for.

It's taken me a few years to be able to maintain a nice good flow of work. just gotta hustle a bit.
