These libertarian types support it for the anonymity, low transaction fees, and 'be your own bank' crap, but those benefits disappear the minute you start addressing the problems.

Yep. The whole thing sounds like a sales spiel. "We must not wager more than we can afford to lose" is the line that made me go "hmmmmmm....."

It is a sales spiel, a cursory google brings up other forum posts about a bitcoin gambling site (™). It's even in his signature, he just forgot to attach the thing.
