My workmate doubled his money in just 3 months. Paid for a jetski.
Prick.

Have to say it's good that there's a crypto thread here. Who here is also worried about the taxation situation?

I've got about 600 trades under my belt so going through all of them is going to be Fun

The tax part of your post in the politics thread now makes sense. ;)

I mean more in regards to being worried about how on earth going through hundreds of trades and calculating taxes is going to be. I'm willing to pay my 10% CGT on my overall gains to be honest and waive the personal allowance, but sadly that isn't an option.

Wait. Musk is a billionaire, probably has loads of graphics cards and has his own space programme. What if he's been sending Gpus up in to space for the aliens and they've been paying him?!

Do you have some Bitcoin? You might have Child Porn as well then

German researchers have discovered unknown persons are using bitcoin’s blockchain to store and link to child abuse imagery, potentially putting the cryptocurrency in jeopardy.

The blockchain is the open-source, distributed ledger that records every bitcoin transaction, but can also store small bits of non-financial data. This data is typically notes about the trade of bitcoin, recording what it was for or other metadata. But it can also be used to store links and files.

Researchers from the RWTH Aachen University, Germany found that around 1,600 files were currently stored in bitcoin’s blockchain. Of the files least eight were of sexual content, including one thought to be an image of child abuse and two that contain 274 links to child abuse content, 142 of which link to dark web services.

“Our analysis shows that certain content, eg, illegal pornography, can render the mere possession of a blockchain illegal,” . “Although court rulings do not yet exist, legislative texts from countries such as Germany, the UK, or the USA suggest that illegal content such as [child abuse imagery] can make the blockchain illegal to possess for all users.”

:D :D But back in... what, BTC, ETH? I hear people speculating left and right, how BTC will either drop to 500 or rise up to 40.000 by the end of 2018.

Man, checking crypto pricing sites like coinbase.com or kriptomat.io every 2 days kinda makes me doubt that whole "it will go back up" thing.

Already burned trough what I had invested in BTC and ETH, so holding what I have for now and not getting into the main currencies for the moment.

On the other hand, I didn't have high hopes for ME:Andromeda either, and it turned out ok :toot:

BTW, which altcoins are you guys looking at? If any at all...

I'm not sure that's the best advice.

Can we get an update on this?

When I saw this thread had been bumped I thought of this post, and went to have a look at the long term trend as it is now:
