So it's November. It's 2017. So that can only mean one thing...Thanksgiving! In which we celebrate a tradition we don't celebrate by having monster sales for little over a week.

Amazon are starting theirs tomorrow, but they've got some deals up already.

Amazon Echo Dot (2nd Generation), Black: £34.99
Amazon Echo (2nd generation), Charcoal Fabric: £69.99

Nespresso Inissia Coffee Capsule Machine, Ruby Red by Krups: £49.99
Nicky Clarke Super Shine Dryer: £19.99

And it wouldn't be Black Friday without it, the Hisense TV!

Hisense H495500UK 49inch 4K UHD Smart TV (2017): £369

Keep this one on the down low, but I heard DFS might have a sale on too.

I look forward to the footage of Asda customers fighting over Polaroid TVs. :datass:

I thought last year we collectively decided this wasn't a thing any more

I want a small but good TV for the bedroom. And an assortment of junk that I dont want now but I will want it when I see it reduced by 10%, so that I can put it in the loft and forget about it until next year when the ritual begins anew.

Perhaps Ill go to Aldi and punch a single mother in the face so I can steal a half price can of beans from her cold, atrophied hands.

When amazon first started doing their blacking Friday lightning deals there always seemed to be decent bargains available. I bought a lot of Xmas present through it as they would reduce the price of many new items. Recently released games for example would regularly have £10 or £15 off. But now it just seems like an excuse to clear old and sometimes obscure stock. Coupled with the old trick of upping the price of some items for the weeks before the sale and then lowering it to make it look like an even better deal. Currys are masters at this.

At least with Curry's and Argos they list the previous prices/dates in small print on their website and/or literature. https://uk.camelcamelcamel.com is also handy for tracking prices on Amazon.

Yeah - Amazon are great at this too. Take the Nespresso thing linked above. The deal says it is down 44% from £89.99 but it has historically been sold for around £70 with the rise to £89.99 only coming in recently.

This is actually a fantastic price, because it also qualifies for the Nespresso promotion where you get £15 off each of your next three orders of capsules, so you're effectively getting the machine for £4.99.

Got my eye on an LG 43" 4k HDR for £369, supposedly down by £280. In my basket, waiting, hovering on Checkout

I usually use Black Friday to get inspiration for my auntie and uncle's side of the family who we always struggle to buy for, but my sister and I boxed them off this evening. Might try and pick up some baby stuff as that always gets reduced.

I know Amazon are unlikely to do much in the way of graphics cards, but as I mentioned a few weeks ago in the PC thread I am in the market for a 1050ti-range card Are the big PC part sites any good for deals? I usually see Overclockers knocking £100 off a £500 card, which is basically useless for me!

Could be worth picking a few cards out and monitoring a site like https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/ for any price drops. Ebuyer and Overclockers have been good in the sales for me in the past.

Worth pointing out that Amazon don't seem to get listed for most things on pcpartpicker anymore, and I've found in some cases they're cheaper than any of the listed sites, so be sure to check Amazon manually too.

Thanks chaps! I can wait until the new year if need be, but if something comes up I may bite sooner...
