'Black music' is such a stupid term. Way to go to emphasise the unimportant differences between people by pigeonholing different genres of music by race.

I had a longer post which went into the little more detail I know, but ended with me admitting my lack of knowledge, being no music theorist. But, you know, Jazz originates from African music and has had a pretty hefty influence on lots of contemporary music, so it's not quite a facepalm moment.

The best rap album ever made says hello! Seriously, check it out - it's all stories, none of that fronting-like-you-gangsta stuff. Check the rhyme patterns on the first few versus of the second video. Amazing stuff.

Aye. His past two albums have been a bit hit and miss. Streets Disciple, whilst no Illmatic, is his most recent album of any real quality in my opinion.
