Another good episode. Really beginning to enjoy this. Though I am hoping they get off the island and off to sea at some point soon.

It doesn't appear to have been picked up by any UK stations yet, which is a shame as one of my mates would absolutely love this. He just doesn't download stuff.

Finally out at sea, enjoyed the plan for the boarding but not the actual boarding itself. Too close in. Next week could be good as well.

Another good episode this week I thought.

Some cool moments.

Billy :(
Though I doubt he's actually dead. Probably managed to hold on to the side of the ship somehow and despite Flint acting all :shifty: he's fine.

Love that Vane went to visit that Creepy guy (Please be some form of Voodoo priest), though I wonder how he'll react to finding out that what little crew he had left have all "disappeared".

Good finale of a season that grew on me. Looking forward to the Flint stuff in the 2nd season, less so the Island stories. Shame about Gates, liked him a lot.

Thought it was a good end.

Overall I think the pacing was slightly off for the series. The pilot was fantastic, but it gave a slightly false impression of what to expect (There was relatively little action after it) then they spent another 3/4 episodes pissing about on the island before actually doing any piratey stuff. When there's only 8 episodes in the season they really should have spread the action out a bit better.

But generally I've really enjoyed it. I've enjoyed every episode and some of the characters are great fun.
Silver is a slimy weasel, Dufrene becomes awesome after tearing the mans throat out with his teeth and I can't help but love every scene Vaine and Rackham are in.

Can't wait to see the next season. :D

I'm looking forward to it. I really enjoyed season one, so hopefully Season 2/3 can maintain the quality but fix the pacing issues that made the middle few episodes drag by.

She was hot. She was also the one character I didn't like. She just bored me.

New episode out now.

‘Black Sails': 10 things to remember before season 2 - http://www.hypable.com/black-sails-season-1-overview/

Reviews

The real surprise is just how entertaining "Black Sails" is. This is often grand-scale entertainment, with pounding action sequences and sumptuous special effects -- a re-created London circa 1705, or the port of Nassau, where even the nonhuman rats can be seen scurrying through the streets. The stories are intricate enough to hold attention, but not too intricate. The action, which always supersedes the chatter, is the thing, and here it's something to see indeed.

BOTTOM LINE Starz has a bona fide hit -- averaging 5.3 million viewers per episode last season -- and it's easy to see why.

GRADE B+

Starz, though, knows the formula for these costume-heavy action dramas from experience with shows like “Spartacus” and “Camelot.” And that formula is executed with particular skill in “Black Sails,” thanks to some strong performances and an exploration of the consequences of greed that could have come out of modern-day Wall Street.

New episode is out. That scene right at the start.
I may be wrong, but was that Billy tied to the beach? Absolutely amazing stuff.
EDIT: IMDB has him listed for the episode. Knew his "death" last season was underplayed. Wonder where they're going with this?

Another great episode as well.

I'm enjoying the flashbacks for Flint. I'm assuming we're going to see some of his connection to Mrs Barlow and how he becomes a Pirate.
Silver was awesome as usual. "As on inspection, the Dairy Goat's anus was irritated from overuse"
Dufresne was obviously getting played from the start there. But it's always nice to see them actually do some Pirate stuff.
Ned Low is really good too. I'm enjoying there being a full on psychopath in the show. Though I'll be interested to see how Eleanor copes with him as time goes on. I can see Vane teaming up with him at some point as well.

I'm really enjoying this season so far. I was afraid that it would slow down after the first episode but it's kept the energy up and looks to be staying that way.
Love this show.

This season just keeps delivering. A slower episode but sets up some stuff for the season still to come.

Vane finally going back to being a badass. 8-)
Looking forward to Flint taking on Vane and his Fort of psycho pirates.
Looks like we won't get back to the Gold for a while yet.
I didn't expect them to kill off Ned this early on. Though I'm glad he's gone as I wasn't a huge fan.
Things looking up for Jack.
No more sign of Billy. Probably going to be a season finale thing.

There needs to be more people watching this show.

Glad someone is still watching this other than me.

Yeah it was a good one. Rackham's a lucky git. :D

Little bit slower than the first two, but that's cool. Needed to stop and take a breath I think.
