Played a bit more. Went back to Cainhurst because obviously there was more to do. Except there wasn't really anything. Sure I put the crown on and suddenly a new section appeared and it was cool but I'm guessing this is another online faction thing which I don't give a crap about. Or is there more to this? I'm sure the lore is good.
So I went back to the healing church tower bit to see if I could find a way past that door again. Nope. I did find something else though. I thought maybe the key might be below and that I'd somehow missed it when falling earlier on. But I spotted a door! Perhaps this will lead to the key? Nope. After dying more times then some boss fights trying to reach said door (
) I found the hunters dream but in the real world. Gave the hair piece to the doll. She felt joy.
Then went on to the Nightmare Frontier again. Here I made the discovery that if you do a charge attack in the back of an enemy it stuns them.
Now I dont think this was told to me. Maybe it was at the beginning. I dunno. Might have been handy. Anyway. I explored what I could of the place. But I couldnt really do much because the place was full of poison water which slowed me down and frankly could hardly tell where land was. A few times I ran towards what I thought was safe ground only for it not to be or that my character simple couldn't even actually get on.
Then things were being thrown at me. I'll try and explore it better later. I was hoping to find a way of not getting poisoned but didn't. Like a kind of anti-lava ring but for poison water. Some weird thing did something weird and I lost nearly all my health. I then killed the thing. The thing had a beautiful voice.
I found the obvious boss room and turned around and discovered the shortcut. Thank strawberry float I turned around.
The boss, Amygaga, was........ well. I thought it was a mess. At first I thought....... oh strawberry float. Its one of those things!
But the fight itself. It just seemed to be roll, hack and hope.
It was so big and the attacks so large that it basically was impossible to see anything. I think it took me 4/5 goes. It seemed quite easy tbh but if it decided to hit me or jump on me I was effectively just guessing and hoping everything would be fine.
The framerate plummeted at points. REALLY BADLY.
It was like fighting the Bed of Bollocks mixed with the Hyrda from DS. Only without the puzzle part of the bollocks fight. I made a couple of attempts to find weak spots. Like the tail but that was just tougher. So were the legs for some reason despite not having the exoskeleton the tail had. So I just tried to hit the arms. Did that swing hit the arm? Yes/No. When it ripped its on arms off it was cool. But it would have been cooler if its health dropped over time and you just had to survive. That would have been a twist. Instead it just carried on being a guessing game. But only now you had to hope the arm you hit was still connected. I think. I'm sure sometimes I hit those arms it did damage. I dunno. I'll look back.
Think it says a lot that I didn't even know I'd killed it. Just one stray swing clipped it and that was that.
Shortcut was brilliantly placed.
I liked this area for its surrealness ans it make a really nice change but in all honesty it feels a bit tacked on.
I think the only place I can push forward to now is the building with the motion sensor light. I hope they don't have foxes like we have here because that could get really irritating.
