If they make a sequel they really need to just give a visceral prompt on the screen so you know when it's going to actually do it, rather than it not triggering and you committing to a swing and getting killed. That and putting sprint and roll on different buttons.

Lady Maria doesn't seem that hard, haven't best her yet but she's so incredibly easy to parry, you just run away from her and wait for her to do one of her chains.

Cainhurst crow was way harder

no memes the hardest 'boss' after Ludwig and Orphan was probably that bloody Hunter in Amelia's church that knocks off Eileen

Yep (That's the Cainhurst crow). He's basically a teleporting ninja.

He was genuinely not too bad once I figured out his AI did nothing if I kept him at the max length of my whip's R2 attack.

Maria seems to have a similar thing, if I visceral her and then R2 her when she's getting up she'll immediately go for an attack after being hit where you can can parry her. You can literally just keep looping that combo till she transform.s

While this isn't janky, I did think it was bullshit as I couldn't do anything with my awful skillz

They're both crows, I'm assuming that alludes to some kind of backstory between them.

You just kept rolling too early instead of waiting for him to attack and then rolling, can't blame you though, that transformation is vicious, makes you panic.

The whip is basically cheat mode, the hit box on that thing is insane!

Good job with Maria though :D

The leveling really does serve no purpose and just kind of ruins sections of this game.

I left a few of the optional locations until late in the story and now I'm just breezing throight them, no tension or anything. Similarly when I tried to do the DLC after Amelia I was far too underleveled. I don't understand the point of the leveling other than to portray some false sense of progression.

Similarly when you go back to old areas I don't like how you can just one hit everything, feels silly.

Also it really sucks getting all these cool new weapons and having absolutely no reason to use them because they don't align with my stats. It just leads you to relying on a few weapons instead of being able to experiment. Instead you basically have to create a new character.

Still love the game, just hope they improve on stuff like that in the future.

This game is incredible, proper addicted.

Beat it a few days ago (if I'd taken the shitty ending) but hung about to buy and play the dlc without NG+.

Just beat ludwig and finally beat that banana split crow guy in the church :toot: :toot:

That would help, it is janky at times.

I've used the threaded cane throughout 8-)

This DLC is strawberry floating solid eh. Beat Ludwig then immediately after those two woman are an absolute nightmare.

Now very stuck on Laurence, tried 5 times yesterday and only got about a fifth of his health off at best. Firey bastard

Great to see the return of Bloodborne chat and, man, I'd love to see a remake of this for PS5.

Perhaps, though, I could just - like you guys have done! - load it up on my PS4.

Tbh 60fps would definitely be a boon but I forget all about 99% of the time when playing anyway, doesn't spoil it

Threaded cane is bitching eh, tried a few of the others but nothing clicks for me like it.

Only realised last night when reading about it that Laurence isn't the next mandatory roadblock boss so yeah I'll prob continue on and fight the rest then return to him. Does annoy me knowing some gimp boss is out there who I'm ducking though
