me :(
Hexx wrote:What sort of Hunter are you? Weapons/Style etc?

Happy go lucky style...... :D Strength as the weapon I picked at the beginning had a higher strength stat. Used that weapon for nearly the whole game as I was expecting to find some but never did. I bought and now use the Kirkhammer though. When I'm forced to farm I quite enjoy using the hammer to smash really weak enemies for the fun of it. :D Gun is what ever pistol I selected at the beginning. Which seems fine when it decides to actually hit things.

:D

:D

:D

Is that anything like the weird thing I found in the Nightmare Frontier? https://www.twitch.tv/videos/175943192?t=54m52s Because I'm sure that will be lovely and fine and ok and I'll be good. :D

That figure is cool. Love the art in this game.

That Figma figure is stunning. I have the Dawn of the Dead Flyboy figure and it's a very good model. The Bloodborne figure is not something I need but I'll end up getting it someday.

I hope Bloodborne 2 is announced next year, the first is a perfect game. Like a 3D Symphony of the Night.

Wish my image sig would work

I know From said they're moving away from Souls games. It's not clear if that means the general formula (including Bloodborne) or specifically the dark medieval fantasy setting.

Cheapest bullshitting bollocking banana spliting twatty shitty gooseberry fool in this strawberry floating game!
Stupid strawberry floating thing killing me after I've killed it bollocks!

:D *cough* :D

Went back to explore the rest of the Nightmare Frontier. :D When I first arrived here I really liked it. It was different. Looked awesome. But now I've just about rinsed it its pretty underwhelming. I went back to the boss area. The tower here was one of the main attractions when I first arrived. Just what would I find there? Turns out........ jack gooseberry fool. You have the boss area and in the tower is a lantern. Thats it. You cant go up the tower. Nothing interesting here at all. This whole area just feels stuffed onto the game. I'm fairly sure this is another optional area, but it feels so pointless compared to Hemwick. I was rewarded after that. Exploring it was enriching. But the more I looked about here the more disappointed I got. Just tedious poison and annoying loops in the level design. I slog my way through all the little caves getting poisoned over and over. To meet the above twats. :D I cant even be bothered to write down what crap about that. But one specific one, in a certain place caused me so much trouble. I died over and over to it. Either because it grabbed me. Or because of frenzy. Or in tandem. Or with slow poison as well. And then when I finally did it. I finally got past the banana split. What did I find? :o A dead end and an item I cant even strawberry floating use. :D Also want to mention the bit with the spider. Well that was just a weaker rehash of the betrayal trap in Tomb of the Giants from Dark Souls. It was so obviously a set up and ending up in more poison was just joy. :D I will now have to go farm again because of the sheer amount of health I had to burn through. :D
However before I go off to do that I went to follow up on kind Hexxy's pointer.

Thats ok Hexxy. :D  I'm sure its placed in a logical point in the game if you have found and read every detail the game gives you and you can remember everything and you write your own wiki as you play. Stopping for 10 mins every time you pick something up because the menu doesn't highlight anything new. I suspect its somewhere near the respawning crazy ladies and the laser Amygaga because thats the one point I can think off that maybe I didn't pick through as methodically as the rest. There was a really dark room but I didn't find the witch bringing them back so I didn't stay long.

I think I found it. It was a key and it was where I suspected. Reading the description was like getting a clue as to where the key might be.......... now that I have the key. :D Also found the bell witch, which was really irritating. I had to find the secret when running about as things just kept spawning around me. Would have worked better if I could have at least cleared the area to look about properly. I'll make using the key my next task after I've farmed again a bit. :D

You'd be better of finding some aids ridden needles and sticking them in your eyes. :D

I have to agree those frenzy things can just strawberry float off. Even with end game frenzy resist gear I ALWAYS get frenzied and if you've taken even a slight bit of damage it's usually enough to finish you off. The first bit of the nightmare of mensis was really tough thanks to them. Especially trying to explore the alternate paths for items.

Yeah TWA the Frenzy sections was the worst bit of the game (even with resistance gear)

You've got some to go I'm afraid

The guide was updated and re-released in May, Glowy, and it’s still available from Amazon for £19.99.

Nightmare of mensis is pound for pound best area in Bloodborne tho. Even with those Frenzy banana splits. That map is incredible, the atmosphere, enemies, layout, everything about it is phenomenal

Progress report. :D

Having found the key I went to Upper Cathedral Ward. This place. Slug things. Had a proper jump scare even though I knew something was going to happen. The bit with the chandelier was cool. :D But also a bit dicky. Having 3 wolves to fight at once in such a small place meant I had little choice but death. Even less choice when the camera couldnt deal with anything. :D It also meant that when I got back here the trap had been sprung so now I could just take them out one at a time. Such troll design. :D I then conducted a structural survey. :D The atmosphere here is so thick. The constant sound of creatures slowly fapping. Anyway. I opened everything and found the real mushroom kingdom. :D I killed the Celestial Emissions first time. :D It wasn't that hard a fight. Nice that it was different. TBH I didn't really get the first part. I guess he was hiding as one of them and you just had to keep doing damage until he biggified himself. Bit of crowd control. Then he turned his back on me, oddly, so I killed him. Then I smashed a window, landed on a slug. :D I then found the Alter of Despair......

:D

Amazing room. Amazing creature design. I was quite happy to let it just sit there. :D But obviously I had to hit it. I would have just hugged it if I could. :D So I hit it in the arse. Turned out the arse was the face! And it was a girl! My first attempt lasted about as long as I suspect I will should I ever get to thrust my sword a female. I tried to parry an attack and was stun locked and combo killed one hit kill style. :D I tried to do this again the next time and it killed me again. So I decided against this tactic. I've still no idea how you know when you cant parry something. The fight lasted longer though. I learned that the charge attack she does is cheap bollocks with hardly any warning and does massive damage and is almost impossible to dodge. :D So wide. Many damage. Much cheap. The head was clearly the weakness but most of the time was out of reach. I also worked out that using the lock on revealed the true boss of the game. The camera. :D Predictably shite. Oh and to top it off it does frenzy stuff to. One tap of a projectile and it built all the way up and bam. Its not like maybe the projectile itself couldn't have been enough? :D So I decided to not lock and go manual. :D Whilst this improved things it was still often a mess of nearly Bob/Amygaga proportions. Just so hard to actually see anything. Wide attacks coming from off screen. The whole creature filling the screen blocking everything. :D Then getting caught on a limb as it turns around. I was trying to roll around the sides and back. Chip away and get the head when it was low. Just hoping to not get charged at. She got "stuck" on a wall which made one go much harder. I had no way of working around her. I died. :D Trying to dodge attacks that had "2 limbs" was rather annoying. If I knew an attack was coming and rolled I might dodge one but sometimes the second right behind it would clobber me. Eventually I got the health down and she began to shimmer. I dont know what this meant. But she did get more aggressive. Is this what an alien god period is like? After not being able to see anything besides her fabulous screen filling figure I was knocked aside. Unable to do anything I was then grabbed and eaten. I'm sure even if all the bites didn't kill me the frenzy would have. :D Still. Finally I've been eaten by a lady. AND WHAT A LADY. :D Next attempt. I rolled inside her. Can I now say I've been inside a woman? I had just 18 vials left. So time for one more glorious attempt! :D She spammed the charge attack. Then went hyper aggressive with the swinging. As my corpse lay on the ground she fired blue things at me. As if to say....... I love you. No, wait. That not it. As if to say strawberry float you noob. So off I went to farm for the strawberry float knows now how many times. :D

Then killed the bitch of the cosmos on my first go back. I didn't really do anything different except this time I seemed to get an extra stunned moment and did a visceral attack and this let me get lots of good attacks in. I'd say it was luck. Anyway. The alter said I could nothing. I did nothing. Nothing happened. :D

I went to Mensis. But its too late to write about that now. :D

That boss was a bastard. Watching my video of the fight is is painful as i take so much longer to kill it than necessary.

Do you not find talking to no-one on your stream distracting? It would properly take me out of the moment chatting away, spoil the atmosphere.

I also don't know how you keep getting so low on vials. I think I had to farm for them a couple of times at most. Next time you amass a load of echoes why not pile them in to buying a couple of hundred of them? Would save you having to endlessly farm for them as it seems you're doing now.

How dare you call my love that! :D I really didn't think I did much different except I got a window to beat the head up more.
Ad7 wrote:Do you not find talking to no-one on your stream distracting?

Honestly. Not really. Its more distracting in a fight when a comment happens because sometimes people do watch. Sweet lovely Jazzem. :D Its actually quite nice to have a reason to talk to myself rather then just talk to myself. :shifty: Its probably kept me from getting quite as ragey as I could have at points and it helps me gather my thoughts.
Ad7 wrote:I also don't know how you keep getting so low on vials.

Me to. :( :D
Hexx wrote:but I wish you were following the strawberry floated up lore of the locations you're going through...did you spot The O******?

Ovaries? Ocarina? Oatcake? Oosperm?

I tried to follow the lore early on I really did. But much like DS I just give up to an extent*. I cant be bothered to stop every time I pick something up and find it and read. Then probably have to sift through all the items to find the bit that it connects to as I've forgotten that. A lot of the time I cant even stop to do it then and there as its not safe to. Then I forget where I found things and sometimes thats important. I've got a few sketchy ideas on various things. Probably all wrong. My main issue is I don't tend to find much worthwhile at the end of these seemingly optional areas. Even though its cool to explore them. Hemwick and the witches gave me the tool to use Runes but everything else seems to be chalice stuff. I might not even do those.

*what I'll say in DS favour is I felt like that it still had some clear goals (defeating the lord souls). Here I don't really know why I'm doing this beyond my curiosity to explore. I'll probably find something that links things together at some point. :D
