Insane still stands.

Nope, the graphics didn't amaze me and it looked pretty confined. Conversely, I was in awe of Heide's Tower of Flame every time I went through it.

This is a generational jump in graphical fidelity over dark souls 2. Not really sure what you're seeing here.

Regardless if it didn't amaze you but it's a big leap from DSII.

That trailer. Oh my.

This looks way more impressive graphically than Dark Souls 2. I thought DS2 was a pretty ugly game at times.

I'd bloody well hope it looks 'graphically impressive'.

Doesn't mean that the game will be any good, I mean I know you guys loved Demon/Dark Souls but this really doesn't appear to be that at all to me.

The female voice right at the end of the trailer sounds like the same voice actress as the maiden from Demon's Souls.

Yup. I almost had a moment when I heard her.

Female dialogue Bloodborne

Bloodborne trailer voice acting is less dramatic/pronounced but it sounds like her.

I think this is her, btw... (Evetta Muradasilova)

Dark Dragon 64 was on about the suped up PC version, no?

Also I love how the kid who posted that got four or five replies in-a-row quoting and setting him straight.

Ah okay. I thought PC may have gotten higher detailed models or something. Maybe DD64 will show us these areas in DSII which are of Bloodborne quality.

Dark Souls 2 so next gen wow

It looked nowhere near as bad as that when I played it. I looked at some screens online and I'll accept that Bloodborne does look better but I still maintain that it didn't amaze me to the level that it did for everyone else. Maybe the low expectations of DS2 that gave it a bigger impact, but BB still doesn't seem too impressive given that it looks restricted and it's aiming for 1080p/30FPS.

Am I imagining it or do you seem to have no interest in or find some way to run down every PS4 exclusive?

Yes?

I think I'll quote every one of his posts. I just don't like the idea of you missing out on all of the HSH posting goodness.

So the world may be horny..

Bloodborne developer From Software said today it’s walking a line between disappointing Souls fans and opening up the concept to a wider audience.

From Software is aiming for a wider audience with Bloodborne, the next game based on the Souls concept, but is mindful there can be no compromise in regards of the series’s difficulty-demanding following.

“In terms of who the game is aimed at, and who we want to capture in terms of the audience, obviously we can’t betray or disappoint the fans out there,” said producer Masaaki Yamagiwa, speaking at gamescom today.

“They’re very, very important. They’ll be the main ambassadors of the game.”

But “we do want more people to share in this experience,” he admitted.

While he couldn’t expand on it, Yamagiwa said that Bloodborne’s “new online concept and experience… will capture a wider audience.”

Bloodborne is being developed by an amalgam of the Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls teams, two RPGs legendary for their toughness. Yamagiwa said the brutal feeling of the original has been altered for the stunning-looking new title.

“You died a lot in the previous games, and you had to persevere, but one of our main goals with this game is that we don’t want to focus on punishing the player,” he said.

“We want to deliver a game that gamers love. If the gamer likes the game they’ll definitely like it enough to have that bit of perseverance, but the way in which we’re making the game? The sense of punishment is much less.”

Yamagiwa warned that players testing Bloodborne at gamescom should not “get too disappointed that it’s too easy”: the public demo has been toned down in difficulty compared to the retail version as From wants players to experience the full demo.

Gamescom hands-on previews:

Bloodborne is bleak and unforgiving

...

It's very surprising to see how close the release date is. With an expected launch sometime in Q1 2015, we can explore the world of Bloodborne sooner than we think. With that said, Sony is still keeping things tightly under wraps, as we're still in the dark about many details. But that's likely for the best because if the full game is anything like what I played, then it's best that we all go in not knowing what will come next.
