Part of the reason I like these games so much is the online discussion about everything, and the story's part of this. People are still talking about what they think is going on in the Dark Souls games, and it's absolutely fascinating. :)

No. :shifty:

I bought it, I remember playing it for a few days and got frustrated, at the time I think there was a billion 360 games out there too.

I feel a fool now. :(

Good man, I hope you got PTD edition as it has possibly the best DLC of all time. Artorias, and all the associated lore that comes with it is amazing. Also the boss fights in it are proper strawberry floating balls tough

Good man? I never played it mate

:x

The ending choices in Souls are pretty confusing even if you know what's going on: generally there is no good ending.

In Demons you either take up the mantle of an archdemon yourself, changing nothing, or you put the Old One to sleep, removing Soul Arts from the world, plunging it back to their dark age and changing nothing.

In Dark you either link the flame, prolonging the age of fire in a world where the gods tied to it have abandoned everything or been killed. Everything is still a shithole, the curse is still around as that was likely merely a ploy from the gods to find someone to link the fire in the first place. Literally nothing has changed except you prolong the inevitable for a little while.

Or

You remove the source of the primordial flame, shutting the case on the Age of Fire and heralding the Age of Dark or the Age of Man (as mankind and the Dark Soul are one and the same). With nothing to stem the flow of Dark mankind may carve out its own path, free from the reins of the Gods but Oolacile and New Londo have shown what happened if humanity is left unchecked and it's potentially a worse outcome. Everything changes, but likely not for the better.

Dark II didn't seem to have a choice as such, it was just "Yeah, there's a reason this is just Dark 1 again. Everything is cyclical. You're not THE chosen undead. You are A chosen undead. NOTHING. EVER. CHANGES." I haven't done Scholar yet as I wanted to wait until after Bloodborne so I don't know if that changes anything.

As for Bloodborne, the ending I got was you wake up and carry on your life. The Dream goes on. Some Great Ones are potentially dead, but nothing's really changed. The others seem to be very similar from what I've heard.

So yeah, everything sucks. Nothing is happy. The end.

To top the [is]no happy endings[/is] thing off, hopefully there will be a BB2 and [is]whatever our hunter turns into will end up as a scrub boss/encounter[/is]. :slol:

Half expecting another "delayed LOL" email from Amazon after the last one I got the other day said it's out on the 22nd.

EDIT: oh I see it's been changed to the 23rd now

I started to try and get one of the endings tonight by refusing the wheelchair guy and then realised after about 5 deaths that I really don't have enough blood vials stocked for it, so I refreshed the save and I'll build those up before another backup. I started reading up on the bits I've missed out on which is thankfully not very many (dat exploration). Was chuffed to find I can now get 3 umbilical chords as I jammily told some woman to go to the clinic, who then gave birth to a baby, which I killed to get the last one I need..

Got some wheel weapon to earn, beast claws and the chalice thing, THEN I can think about activating an ending.

Have to say once it's done I feel no reason to start NG+. The world, while interesting, is such a bleak place that I just don't have any desire to explore it again.

It was the same with dark souls, I feel like going back to the world with everything back again makes it feel less like I had an effect on the whole thing and more like a game, if that makes sense?

Same with games like skyrim, starting that fresh would spoil the illusion of it being a real place for me.

I can't really be arsed with NG+ yet either. If they had done something like the extra enemies and stuff in Dark Souls 2 then I'd have more inclination to do it, but I'd rather just finish off the Chalice Dungeons then wait a year or so for another play through.

Remember to try shoulder trigger/button presses for different combo/types of attacks. Most times you're just better off using non-trick R1 (unless, like me, you have a thirst for the 2H) but knowing the variety of attacks at your disposal won't hurt.

Will do, cheers.

Quick question:

HOW THE strawberry float DID I END UP IN THE LOST VILLAGE I'M SCARED AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON. Apart from that, it's all good. Pretty smart surprise :)

EDIT: Although, I'm pretty sure one of those things stole a load of my blood vials. Either that or I used them all without realising while fighting it. :fp:

Wild guess: The last thing to kill you was a lanky thing carrying a sack. If you're finding it tough going in there: climb the spiral stairs to the top.

Spot on :) Did that so at least I can go back whenever.

Sat mouth open when it happened though, I wasn't expecting it at all. Makes me wonder what the hell's still to come!

Yeah, it's pretty great. It's also the point you realise it's not as clean cut as you think: before you're thinking it's just beasts and blood and gothic horror and such, then you get there and you're hit by statues of eldritch abominations, notes on sacrificial newborns and something going on with the moon. It's when the game really reveals itself as the cosmic horror it is.

Farewell bloodborne it's been an honour.

Gonna put it in the trading post too, but anyone that wants it..I'm looking for about £30-35? Still showing £45-50 everywhere. If not I'll whack it on eBay.

Holy gooseberry fool, I've got 3 moon runes stacked so I get a load of blood from enemies. 3x runs to the lecture building room by the lamp nets me upwards of about 60k blood in 5 mins at the end of the game

Think I'll power level here for a bit to prepare for NG+ should I go in to that.

Edit: make that 90k in 3 runs 8-)

There's a better place to farm, go to Mergo's Loft Middle then farm the three pigs.
