Numbing most is handy for that fight, if she sits up to heal then chuck one over to stop it.

I think i got defeated by the same enemy yesterday - was ok af first, then it kept coming af me constantly. Managed to get one visceral attack in, but there was still some health left! I died soon after!

Also, is that sniper killable or should i just leave him until later? He killed me with his speed and quick slashes almost instantaneously. Bloodborne!

You can kill him, very easily in fact. Here's my 'fight' with him if you want to see it:

Just plan your route past him and leg it, there's cover in just the right places to help you get around him and once you know where to take it, you can get through without taking any hits.

i hadn't read up on it before meeting him so I was legit trying to fight him, but as I was near the ladder he rolled to attack me and fell straight off, I didn't land a single hit

This is the first time I have really wanted to play a game and keep going back to it - in the morning and after work!

As you play more and more you realise how you need to defeat certain enemies. Still cannot down the beast in Old Yharnam, but will try and summon someone as I have enough insight.

There's an NPC summon for that boss. I think it's next to the bottom of the stairs.

Cheers, will give it a go tonight if I have the time. I realised that I needed to stock up on the antidotes to ensure I don't die so quickly!

I use it like:

1. Go in to lecture room
2. Kill all but one
3. Die
4. Go back in to lecture room
5. Kill them all
6. Back to Hunter's Dream
7. Spend all the echoes on 20 Bold Hunter's Marks
8. Back to Lecture Building
9. Go in to lecture room
10. Kill them all
11. Use Bold Hunter's Mark
12. Repeat 9 to 11 20 more times (about 15 minutes)
13. Go back to Hunter's dream with over 250,000 blood echoes

What do i do after the old yharnam boss? Beat him with the help of an npc. I have 16 insight and have noticed that one enemy has become tougher and the appearance of a one hit killer is frustrating - just when i was getting good!

Is old yharnam the blood starved beast? If so I think you can go into the area beyond where you fought Paul Gascoine next.

Yep thats the one! Bloody nightmare on my own, but quite simple with the help of an ally! After beating father gascoigne i am sure i continued forward. I have opened a few new areas now - one with the chalice and the other as a consequence of being killed by the new enemy outside the cathedral that kills you in one hit or so. I don't think i am supposed to continue in this area now. Ideally i would like to up my stats a bit in the next hours play to make it a bit easier later on.

Still a fantastic game that is more exciting to play than dark souls and i don't feel like i want to give up anymore.

To think i hated this at the beginning. I literally made no progress after the first few hours. That beginning was pretty damn hard as was the cleric and father gascoigne. Glad i stuck with this, but can see why so many would have just quit and sold the game after making no progress after a few hours in the game.

You got the bug 8-)

If you can access it now then you're supposed to go there, some bits might just be harder than others unless you've got really good at dodging and parrying.

This new enemy by the cathedral, what is it?

The thing that hits you with a big sack. The other enemy fires stuff out of the lantern too now, but i can still visceral kill it.

Yep i have the bug. Literally the only game i want to play now. I really feel a part of the world. The game can be a bit odd though - one minute you have fairly simple enemies to dispatch, then you get one or two that are really difficult!

Those sack strawberry floaters, I think I'm only just tough enough to reliably take those on and I'm 50 hours in and over level 100

The first time one of those appeared I near shat myself, went outside the chapel to beat the lamp guy and those 3 crows only to not see any crows and just stood there going "...eh?"

BAM, ONE HIT KILL by sack guy :dread:

And then that happens :dread:

Brilliant game, just loved exploring every nook and cranny, with death a very real possibility at every turn, no prior knowledge of any enemies or areas (dat media blackout) was just amazing.

Stuck in rock hard chalice dungeons now.

Yep, that moment was a bit odd, but i found the lamp soon enough and got back to the hunters dream!

I guess u will reexplore areas and try to level up a bit.
