A bit of background on the game here: http://www.siliconera.com/2018/05/11/bl ... ch-3ds-pc/

For me, looks wise, this blows Ritual of the Night out of the water.

I got the PC version. Should be great when it comes out.

Wahey, classic action 'vania lives :toot:

Vaguely related; didn't realise the DS 'vanias were starting to hike in price, Order of Ecclesia is now one of the most valuable games I own!

Those DS Castlevania games were some of the best in the series. Shame the 3DS didn't get anything decent, but with these two Bloodstained games on the Switch I'm gonna be a happy chappy.

Awesome. Out in 2 weeks as well. HYPE

What did everyone pledge for the KS btw? I completely forgot so I just checked, I went for the $150 tier :slol: at least I paid for it 3 years ago so it has no bearing on today.

This is out now on Steam, you can get the keys from the survey. Unfortunately there's an issue with the console versions and they're going to be delayed for a bit, but you can still get a temporary Steam key that lasts until June 8th while they try and sort it out.

Nice to be given a temporary Steam key while we wait for the console versions. I'll download that tomorrow, just hope it plays well without a pad.

It's up on PSN for £7.99. It isn't crossbuy.

I put down 3DS on my survey but gave it a go using the Steam temp key today, it's pretty good. Up to stage 4, feel like I've missed a lot but it seems like it lends itself well to repeat playthroughs so I guess I'll do a more complete run once the proper codes arrive.

If you'll forgive the blatant self promotion (and please do), I'm planning to stream Curse of the Moon later today at 6:30. Big fan of actionvania so I'm excited! Apparently it's a fair bit easier than old CV games which is a bit of a relief, if perhaps a disappointment for uber fans.

It's good, feels just like classic CV. Only done the first 2 stages. Love the switching characters concept.

Played a little of this last night. Pretty damn good so far. Only made it up to the second boss, but I'll be going back to it later and smashing his face in.

Really enjoy Inti-Creates games.

Looking forward to RotN night as well. Do we have an estimated release date for that?

No worries sir!

Perhaps to little surprise, I greatly enjoyed it! Impressively, I think it manages to balance being an homage to old 'vania while carving its own identity very well. It's clearly taking after CV3 with multiple characters + routes, but there's much of a creative spark to this with wildly inventive boss designs and consistently engaging level design.

Looks lovely too, very reminiscent of Shovel Knight in evoking the striking simplicity of 8-bit visuals design but not being completely beholden to limitations of the time. Some lovely backgrounds in particular and I really can't praise the pixel art on the bosses enough.

I have finished it but you're not necessarily done once you reach the credits, plenty of replay value.

Even though the game released yesterday - and Jazzem has already completed it! - an update patch has been released today. The update includes:

• In-game tutorial – several things were designed from scratch, while others were remodeled. It will help you understand better the core gameplay mechanics, like leveling up and the use of power-ups
• Character’s animations – better control over the main character was our main goal. In order to achieve it, we have polished some animations. The result is that our knight reacts immediately to you want him to do (like jumping, punching, shooting, picking up weapons and so on)
• Combat – we received a lot of feedback on that, so we have focused on improving it, especially on polishing the blocking mechanics
• Second weapon – by popular demand, we have added indicators informing you about the second weapon’s power. A small, yet an important change
• Easy Mode – we have heard your comments loud and clear and we reckon that the game might be a bit too challenging at times. This mode was added for the gamers that simply enjoy exploring the game’s world
• Balance – we have improved this feature and we hope you will notice it
• Bugs – we fixed the ones that we could find, so they shouldn’t distract you any more
