jawafour wrote:Even though the game released yesterday - and Jazzem has already completed it! - an update patch has been released today. The update includes:

• In-game tutorial – several things were designed from scratch, while others were remodeled. It will help you understand better the core gameplay mechanics, like leveling up and the use of power-ups
• Character’s animations – better control over the main character was our main goal. In order to achieve it, we have polished some animations. The result is that our knight reacts immediately to you want him to do (like jumping, punching, shooting, picking up weapons and so on)
• Combat – we received a lot of feedback on that, so we have focused on improving it, especially on polishing the blocking mechanics
• Second weapon – by popular demand, we have added indicators informing you about the second weapon’s power. A small, yet an important change
• Easy Mode – we have heard your comments loud and clear and we reckon that the game might be a bit too challenging at times. This mode was added for the gamers that simply enjoy exploring the game’s world
• Balance – we have improved this feature and we hope you will notice it
• Bugs – we fixed the ones that we could find, so they shouldn’t distract you any more

Oh my god bahaha, what odd timing.

...I'm not sure what it means by the blocking mechanics <_<

Loving this btw. Easy mode is probably too easy so even if your not looking for a huge challenge I’d still stick with veteran mode. Very hyped for its big brother coming out.

Beat the first two levels. Bloody tricky and just on the verge of frustrating.

EDIT: Now 4 levels in and it has all clicked. The character line up is very well balanced and the switching dynamic is a delight. The boss fights rival anything else in the genre. Saving the last level for tomorrow.

Hmm, maybe it's just PS4 for now. Have you checked today?

It's awesome on PS4, btw

Beat stage 7 finally after about six game overs. Damn ramps were exhausting until I realised I could just do two and fly over the rest :x

EDIT: okay beat the game. Level 8 had significantly easier platforming imo. My ingame clock says 2:15 but I know I put in a good 5 or 6 hours.

Great game. Highly recommended to all Metroidvania fans. As challenging and enjoyable as any of its top tier peers. (Played on Switch)

Started up again on Nightmare and enjoying the extra challenge, especially now that I'm actually on Veteran (lol) and with being a man down without Zangetsu. The platforming really is very polished and I love the team mechanic so much. Makes for a lot of variety in how you can approach bosses depending on who has which sub-weapons.
Need to try out the Zangetsu only run as well once I've done Nightmare, see how it changes things up.

I played a few minutes but the controls felt very unresponsive on my laptop. Will try again with a controller tonight.

Just played an hour, really enjoying it so far. It's got a real original NES feel to is.

Still waiting on the EU Switch code.

I hope there isn't a similar issue when RotN is released.

This looks bloody brilliant, unfortunately it looks a little too demanding for me to play even if I could theoretically come up with a workable control setup.

Just started Nightmare mode and getting my arse kicked. Might try a solo Zan run instead.

For those like me who loved Curse of the Moon, check out Odallus. Just bought in on sale for £8ish on Switch. 90% on steam. Around 7-8 hours of gameplay.

Check out a review here -

Good to see they've announced a release window of Summer 2019. Hopefully it's worth the wait.

Wish my image sig would work

Has anyone here beaten any of the other modes in this game? I finished the main game on veteran but the next mode you unlock where the main character is the villain kicked my ass.
