As we all know, that site formerly known as Twitter is becoming a right dumpster fire. As such, several alternatives have been appearing. A few of us here at GRcade are already on one of those. Bluesky Social is as Twitter-like as they come, with the former CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, on its board of directors. This thread is a gateway to find those of us here at GR who are using Bluesky Social, and perhaps attract others to use the service whenever they get invite codes.

Bluesky seems ok. Plenty of missing features, but I assume they'll be added later on.

It's very quiet there, but again I assume that'll change as more people register.

Not posted there yet as of typing this, but this will be one of my twitter alternatives after twitter put up their paywall and I get the strawberry float out of there.

How do you sign up? Do I need to join the waiting list and wait for an invite email?

Join the waiting list, or get an invite code from someone who has joined (but there are a finite number of them).

I might join the waiting list, no harm in it is there.

I have 3 invite codes if anyone wants to skip the wait

I'll take a code if that's cool jiggles. I'll sign up at some point soon!

I don't even understand what this is asking me, let alone why. These twitter alternatives really need to get better at frictionless sign up processes if they actually want to get mass adoption.

I thought it would be just me.
I don't understand the world anymore.. barely have a handle on Instagram and Facebook nowadays :lol:

You just click "next" unless you want to alter it.
