Yeah that seen was pretty brutal. Wasn't expecting it. I was just thinking he'd give him an ass whomping...not a jugular thrashing

Good return though. I always find I forget a lot of stories in this show but oh well. Just a case of remembering or reading up again I suppose.

Cool to see a few HBO show people in this episode. Herc from The Wire and Nixon from Band of Brothers.

Great opener last week (have yet to watch last night's episode). That scene with the bottle, strawberry floating hell! Hoping for a LOT more Chalky White and Capone this season. Harrow continuing to be a badass. :datass:

strawberry float, that second episode was outstanding. Van Alden  Love the new Doctor character. He reminds me a lot of Brother Mouzone from The Wire in the way he talks and carries himself. Ironic that he was mostly in scenes with Chalky White. They played off each other brilliantly. Ruthless character. Should make a great big bad for the season (if indeed he is the big bad). And still no Mrs. Schrader! Although her name is still in the opening credits which means she'll show up sooner or later. :x I'm worried about what's gonna happen to Eddie now. Nucky's last right-hand men didn't end up so well.

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 26, 2013 – Following the hit series’ fourth-season debut on Sept. 8, HBO has renewed Boardwalk Empire for a fifth season, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming.

“Thanks to Terry Winter, Martin Scorsese, Tim Van Patten, Howard Korder and their stellar team, Boardwalk Empire remains in a class by itself,” said Lombardo. “I look forward to another electrifying season of this impeccably crafted series.”

From Terence Winter, Emmy®-winning writer of “The Sopranos” and Academy Award®-winning director Martin Scorsese, Boardwalk Empire is set in the 1920s during Prohibition, and chronicles the life and times of Enoch “Nucky” Thompson, the undisputed leader of Atlantic City.

Among the early critical raves for the new season of Boardwalk Empire, New York’s Daily News declared that the series “remains must-see television drama,” while People called it “terrific” and a “gripping spectacle.” The Chicago Tribune hailed the show’s “achingly good performances,” and Variety termed it “one of TV’s most compelling dramas.”

BOARDWALK EMPIRE continues to be one of HBO’s most-watched original programs, with an average gross audience of 7.5 million viewers this season.
The series recently received five Emmy® Awards, the most of any series in the 65th Annual Primetime Emmy® Awards competition, including Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (Bobby Cannavale); Outstanding Art Direction for a Single-Camera Series; Outstanding Hairstyling for a Single-Camera Series; Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series (One Hour); and Outstanding Sound Editing for a Series.

Brilliant Kessler scenes this week. Him and Capone's brother played off each other so well.

Damn it Eddie.

Both Anthony Laciura and Gretchen Mol were excellent, wonderful performances.

What always amazes me about this show is how they can have an episode as good as this without it even featuring some of my favourite characters or without me even noticing their absence. The ensemble really is that good.

Blimey! I didn't realise this was back. I was watching it on Sky previously, but no signs of it returning soon. Better get downloading then.

I strawberry floating love the cinematography in this show. Every shot is practically a work of art

And every actor puts in a brilliant performance every week, even GoT has their dodgy actors (yes Jon Snow, I'm looking at you).

Just when I think the show can't get any better, it does. This week's episode. Holy. strawberry floating. gooseberry fool. That scene with Chalky and Dunn. Wow. I thought for sure Chalky was a goner. The scene before it with Daughter singing to him just made it more ominous. And strawberry float, did that last scene imply thatEli is playing ball? Outstanding episode.
