As much as I love it, I was getting sick of the overuse of the DB5 in the recent films.

I think when it got blown up in Skyfall that might have been the end of it being used.

Lazenby and Moore are the wrong way around. Also, technically it should be Connery, Lazenby, Connery again, Moore. [/überpedant]

Well technically Never Say Never Again isn't an official Bond movie so no it shouldn't

After George Lazenby left the franchise, producers Harry Saltzman and Albert R. Broccoli tested other actors, but studio United Artists wanted Sean Connery back, paying a then-record $1.25 million salary for him to return.

Yea that doesn't suggest anything other than the film was made :?

I can selectively quote Wikipedia too :simper:

Because Never Say Never Again is not an Eon-produced film, it has not been included in a number of subsequent reviews. Norman Wilner of MSN said that 1967's Casino Royale and Never Say Never Again "exist outside the 'official' continuity, [and] are excluded from this list, just as they're absent from MGM's megabox.

His point is Diamonds are Forever is an actual Bond film. Which it is though not a good one.

My apologies. Lazenby's single appearance was 1969, Connery came back for Diamonds in '71, Moore's first outing was Live and Let Die in '73. Here's a chronological timeline.

S'alright, I only found that out when I rewatched a load of the films last year. It's easy to skate over Connery's brief resurgence because Diamonds are Forever is, as Memento Mori suggests, a bit crap.

Most Bond films are pretty unwatchable. Over all, it is not a good franchise, quality wise.

It's the Moore period that really drags the quality down.

I don't think they age well. The older ones blur into one over time.

It has one of the best songs, but is one of the worst Bonds.

I have to agree. Brosnan's Bonds are the only ones that I enjoy watching

Hopefully #24 is a return to the campy/OTT-ness. From the little I've read about it, it will be.

As long as we don't have a return to Moore levels of camp.

It's a gateway drug. Next thing you know you're all about hillbilly sheriffs and chase sequences in 2CVs.

Just say no to magnetic watches.
