I just saw this now, and have to admit I've never actually watched any Bond films outside the Daniel Craig ones. I've seen clips but they always seem too horrendously cheesy to enjoy.

That said, this seemed like one of those movies...

All the cliches you associate with Bond were there, stupid villains making dumb speeches, like in that drill scene. Incompetent henchmen, none of the bad guys can aim a gun properly, or that big guy with the fingernails who decides not to bring any back up or anything on the train.

It was fun to watch but some of the plot holes are also a bit hard to figure out. How did this guy become head of a global crime syndicate? They never describe him as being especially smart of talented or anything, so as far as the movie is concerned it just makes it seem like it's natural to start an evil organization because your dad spent some extra time with another kid.

Watched QoS last night. Out of all the Craig Bond fields it has the best plot, because it actually makes sense.

Casino Royale- Why do we have to play cards against Le Chiffre? Can't we just arrest/kill him? At the end of the game Bond even says to Felix he's all yours. (And then Felix proceeds to do strawberry float all leading to Bond getting his balls smashed in)
Skyfall- the villains plot makes no sense and requires some impossible timing.
Spectre- Again the villains plot makes no sense.

QoS, throw coup in exchange for water, sell water. It is the least exciting though.

Saw this last night, really enjoyed it. I think Skyfall still slightly beats this, though mainly because it was shorter and the pacing was better.
I loved all the little nods to previous Bond films Fight on the train, snow carriages, bomb in the watch etc and I found this one had more humour than any of Craig's Bond films. A few nice one liners and the C on-liner M came out with, had the audience laughing, but then he corrected them! I think the brain torture scene was to fill in why Blofeld was doing what he was doing, and to show a 'Dr. Evil' side to his character.

Anyway, 8/10 for me.

Casino Royale> Skyfall> Spectre>>>>>>>Quantum of Solace

Hmm...

I will leave this here and it's interesting opinion about the ending.

Said Skippy, about Skyfall. ;)

(EW theory is bogus, no evidence to support it: Bond has always gotten out of ridiculous situations through ridiculous means.)

You're obsessed man  I think Skyfall is a better film than Spectre, but it's not a film without flaws.

Wasn't too sure why she was cast? A. N. Other woman would have sufficed, so that Bond could get rapey with her....

Saw it yesterday, I did enjoy it. But not sure where I'd rank it out of all the bond films. If heard it was more like the older films, but didn't get that too much when watching it.

Some great scenes and some average scenes that could have been a lot better. I assume this will be the last Daniel Craig one (has that been confirmed?). Interesting to see who/what route they go down.

Have you never watched ITV 1 on a bank holiday?

Saw it tonight, I did enjoy it but always had the feeling I missed something really important as I wasn't entirely sure why things were happening, especially the doctor falling in love so quickly. Was disappointed that C turned out to be a baddie as there was so much foreshadowing I was sure it was going to be a bluff. I liked Waltz as a bad guy but I wasn't sure what his motives were and why. He claimed to be a visionary but what would a global surveillance network actually help him to achieve?

As I said I did enjoy it but I was hoping for something more satisfying from the attempt to link the Craig Bond stories together than an organisational chart with Blofeld above all the main bad guys.

After seeing it again I'd definitely settle on this order.

The order's right, but Skyfall is much further to the right for me. To the point where it's barely worth separating the 3.

Casino Royale is so much better than the rest combined, it's painful.

Really, really disappointed with that. Cinematography was incredible but everything else was a bit of a let down. So much potential and could've been great but it was very meandering and lacking in depth.

Christopher Waltz was completely wasted on this. If you're going to have a "mastermind" character, you really need to flesh them out and build the relationship with the protagonist and, more importantly, the viewers. Having him in one, bland scene and then expecting me to care about a big reveal is insulting.

I could go into real detail about everything I didn't like but I can't really be bothered because it's probably all been said before.

It definitely felt like a committee had listed everything they consider makes a Bond film and forced the director to cram it all in without any regard for the story.

Also Casino Royale is infinitely better than all the other Craig films. I think it actually hurt Spectre that they kept reminding me of Le Chiffre.

Having watched Casino Royalle again, I think it's being massively overrated. Don't get me wrong, it's good but for me Skyfall is the best Craig film.
