Finally time to get the ball rolling. Hopefully it'll be on the same level as Skyfall and Craig can go out on a high.

Michael G. Wilson, Barbara Broccoli and Daniel Craig today announced that due to creative differences Danny Boyle has decided to no longer direct Bond 25.

Going well then!

No Mr Bond, I expect you to di...rect your own movie...

They could always hire Wes Anderson?

Just think, Bond would have to deal with his difficult family while entangled in an art heist involving animated foxes.

Bond "So you expect me to talk"
Villain: "No Mr Bond I expect you to make peace with your estranged sibling"

You'd need the right director for Russ Abbot, it would be important to get the right atmosphere:

I miss Russ Abbot.

What the... I know that song!

I was 3/4 years old and on holiday at Pontins Holiday Camp in Somerset, and it was being constantly being played on the chalet TV's there.

I never even knew it was a Russ Abbott track. :toot:

Check out that picture at the top of the article - man, Craig is looking ropey as strawberry float these days! How is he supposed to pass a sauve lady-killer with a face like that?

Barry Chuckle looks well though.

Christopher nolan may be directing this which would automatically make it a must see. It does need a bit more humour and gadgets imo and hope the next bond adds more of this.

There've been a lot of rumours that pass few weeks that I keep seeing in headlines for Idris Elba and Henry Cavill to lead. Maybe that's what the creative differences are.

This is going to be another expensive, rushed mess of movie isn't it

Enter Christopher Nolan.

Nolan? :dread:

Not sure what Bond needs now really, the "gritty reboot" that we were supposed to be getting in the Craig era never really paid off, but I don't want us to go full Moore era nonsense either.

Is it cool to hate on Nolan now?

It’s a shame Boyle has left and will probably mean the next Bond is a complete mess. Craig started with so much promise but overall I think his Bond movie record is going to end up pretty poor. Casino Royal being the only great one, Skyfall being good and the others being pretty gooseberry fool.

Skyfall was my favourite of the Daniel Craig Bond movies, that fight in a skyscraper where they were silhouetted by a giant screen was just amazing.

Casino Royale was fairly decent but tended to plod at times, Quantum never really went anywhere, and Spectre was very enjoyable.

Pierce Brosnan is still one of the my favourite Bonds. Unfortunately he was let down by shitty scripts after Goldeneye.

*after Tomorrow Never Dies

Apparently the same people have done the scripts from TWINE to SPECTRE

I don't think anything will live up to Casino Royale for me, it's easily the best Bond film. I was excited for a Danny Boyle Bond too :(

Yeah, Brosnan was a brilliant Bond, but his stories were pants.

Sort of. Neal Purvis and Robert Wade wrote TWINE and DAD. They drafted CR, and Paul Haggis did a rewrite for the final script. Not sure how they were involved with QoS. They wrote Skyfall which was then rewritten by John Logan. Then John Logan wrote Spectre, and Purvis and Wade were brought on board to write the final act when Sony weren't happy with the ending.

Danny Boyle apparently quit over a dispute about casting of the Russian villain (The Telegraph).

Loved GoldenEye, have a soft spot for Tomorrow Never Dies...

...Worlds Is Not Enough (best theme tune btw) and Die Another Day were horrendous though.

All in all Brosnan is my favourite Bond, Casino Royale would've been god damn perfection with him in.
