It would benefit from a retrospective documentary and Twitter and Facebook links.

Florence should try and kickstart Manpuncher vs Boxhead.

One of the laziest Kickstarters I've seen. Not even a video or anything.

I'm surprised Kickstarter vetted it, to be honest. Their new UK team must be super-lazy.

I think this is entirely sensible from Braben. It is all very well the Elite fans asking for a remake, but to do it properly would be a large task for which there is no guarantee that there is enough interest to make it financially viable. Sure the £1.5m won't pay for the game, but it would at least show there is serious interest out there.

I do agree that he needs to release more information as soon as possible though.

It's good to see that David Braben has followed my advice and posted a video for Elite. It shows a few clips of the original games, has a still of some concept art, and the new game playing in the background. He says on KS comments "the video monitors behind me in the sequence (and in the BBC sequences) are of an early test of multiplayer in Elite: Dangerous."

Here's a screen cap from me

Also good to hear him explain multiplayer.

Yeah. 60 days is a good amount of time to make the money. 1 month to get the requested and another month to get more to make it better.

I'd rather it was a single player focused experience tbh but I will probably chuck a few quid at it anyway. I spent a stupid amount of time with Frontier on the Amiga and I played a fair amount of the original on Spectrum and the GBA port as well. I never played much of the third game but that's because it was a buggy, unfinished mess at release and I never got around to buying it.

I might back this but what is the difference between the 20 & 30 rewards?

Backed for 20 quid. Bit worried because elite 4 is vaporware.

I'm a bit worried about this one. I'd really love a new Elite to happen but with 15 days to go it needs to raise £420,000. What with momentum having slowed right down, and the gaming websites effectively being closed down for Christmas I'm not sure if he will be able to do it. Braben should try and give interviews and features with every newspaper, blog or TV station that will listen.

Teaser trailer:

It's always like this on kickstarter, they just need to do something in the next couple of days to get people thinking about it and back the project.

Only about £7300 to go, 53 hours left. Looking good!

even closer now. Looks like this will go ahead.

I was sure I heard this was involving ms at one point. if they passed up the chance to have this exclusive on a brand that lacks exclusives these days then I kind of hope it does stormingly well to teach them a lesson.

What's the chances they will just use the old BBC Master code and slap on a new rendering engine?
