Ok so this is slowly clicking now I know about alternate control for landing and that direction matters :fp: I've fumbled about and figured how to increase my jump range by removing weapons this allowed me to do a mission earning 130k credits! Now I've gotten into a little bit of rhythm and upgraded a few things and I'm on about 250k now. Possibly looking to save for a freighter. Having tried tutorial on combat I realise I'm never going down the fighter route so I'll settle for intergalactic tycoon!

Good stuff, Daz, as I said once it clicks you'll see the positives more and more and the previously difficult things will become second nature!

Had a really good session this evening, got 3 hours in which is unheard of in my house

Just continued with the smaller data pack transfer between close systems, 10-15k a pop but managed to score 2 100k+ jobs that were ridiculously straightforward, 2 jumps for each and no drama from pirates or anything. I've now got 550k which is enough to get a Cobra Mk3 and still be able to afford the buyback. Just have to actually find a station that sells one...

I was about to mention you need to face the number on the dock pad. There's a tiny indication in the hud as well but yes it's not clear at all.

Also there are much safer star systems than others, there is one near where you start that is basically safe save for a few trolls.

Also try to lol at failures a bit more, the game isn't forgiving but neither is life. It's a sim where you get out what you put in and basically requires role play. You could get shanked tomorrow, elite is the same, probably worse lol

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

fuuuuuuuuck i'd forgotten how amazing this is in VR :datass: I've got my hotas on my lap in my nice comfy chair and it feels like i'm really sat in the ship. Docking in a space station feels incredible, jumping out of frame shift right next to a sun looks absolutely massive.

Wiped my save and started fresh. When i got the horizon expansion i had already started so it took me ages to get a SRV and that, now with the new save i start with one and some missions to do close by straight off the bat.

I'd say VR is amazing, I use free look all the time and that's impressive. Got a few bounty kills. Up to 80k. When it hooks you it really becomes a time sink. Played for hours last night.

Some rubbish gameplay of me taking off and ZZZZZ travel somewhere before landing the wrong way around.

Thanks for the fix Jawa.

The VR does look pretty neat on normal video, so wearing the headset must be a great experience. I think the game itself looks a wee bit complex for me but it was still cool to see it.

Oh, and if anyone else is having trouble with the vid link:

Thanks Jawa. There's no way to describe accurately what it's like, all I can do is say you're actually sat in a real spaceship. It's incredible.

Spent the evening mining, which was cool, but I made strawberry float all money.

Mining was.cool if a little laborious. Was awesome just being in an asteroid belt with other ships doing the same. Love the way the sun would periodically be cut off by the planet and you'd be in near darkness, so you'd put the ship lights on

Was.mining right close to a huge asteroid and the collision alarm went off. I looked to me right and the side of it was rotating at me like a strawberry floating skyscraper about to smack in to me. I.managed to hit reverse and only.just get out of the way.

Going to dabble with the flight assist off next session as I've never tried it.

I'd be all over this on PS4 if they brought out a PSVR version.

As it is I might reinstall the PC version at some point.

I keep checking the Frontier forum to see if there is any news on a psvr version. Consensus is there isn't enough grunt in the PS4 Pro to make it work let alone a standard PS4.

If you have the chance to even just try it in vr once, you have to do it.

Next PC upgrade I do (Probably next year) I'll be looking to get a Vive as well, so I'll definitely be jumping back into this when that happens.

Not yet... they share same world 'factions are sams when they change etc' but Xbox, PS4 and PC gamers can't 'meet'.
