Rumour is circulating that May is going to capitulate and keep the entire UK in the Single Market to avoid checks between GB and NI in order to keep the DUP on side and get Labour support to defeat ERG supporting MPs.

The problem with that, as good as it sounds, is it basically removes any incentive for a second referendum that could see Article 50 cancelled before the March 29th Deadline.

Yeah absolutely nobody will be happy with it.
Brexiters are going to call it a betrayal of Brexit and the will of the people, whilst remainers will say what's the point of leaving.
Not to mention all it does for businesses is extend the period of uncertainty since they'll still have no idea what's going on long term.

All we'd be doing really is giving up our seat at the big table and maybe paying a but less towards the EU budget, but in such a tiny amount it won't even begin to dent the harm Brexit has already caused.

I could see the Conservatives maybe suddenly implementing the existing powers EU nations have to control EU migration and trying to portray it as some new power they've obtained from Brexit negotiations in an attempt to appease Brexit supporting idiots voters.

If some major manufacturers like Nissan came forward and issued an ultimatum of single market access or else bye-bye, it would make things much easier. I understand they want to play their cards close to their chests to avoid spooking investors or alienating public opinion but I think there may soon come a time when they are forced to lay those cards on the table. The panic of potentially tens of thousands of jobs up and leaving would surely eclipse any talk of "betrayal" that the hard-brexiteers could whip up.

There's no way it will be voted through parliament. We all know this. May has to talk in this rhetoric because she has to save face for her party and some Brexiteers.

Unfortunately I suspect that would only end up having the opposite of the intended effect.
People like Jacob Rees-Mogg and Johnson would turn around and say how we don't need those companies, how foreign companies are trying to betray and control the Destiny of the British people and how those companies are just making idle threats and would never go through with it (knowing full well that the companies wouldn't have time to go through with it immediately), and their supporters would absolutely lap it up.

SNP are strawberry floated in Scotland now, too many people are bored/fed up with the calls for independence, so much so that they voted the strawberry floating tories in up there. Like wtf.

They need to go with the will of the people in their constituencies, which is "Remain," by quite a margin. The SNP are hanging on a little bit up here at the moment, I think.

I imagine they're pissing themselves quietly at what's going on in Westminster.
