Imagine.

I was actually thinking that.

What if she got some of her "friendly" mps to submit letters in an effort to force the no confidence vote and screw the ERG over. Take the initiative away from them.

Seems a bit too savy for them though.

I was also wondering that as well. Risky strategy as it may have convinced some sitting on the fence to vote against her but it doesn’t appear to have done.

Not a great result for May, Tories could well lose a no confidence vote in the commons based on this.

I'm so sick of the ERG, a bunch of completely unimportant whingebags. Why JRM is afforded so much air time on screen and in print is absolutely strawberry floating mind-boggling, he's a strawberry floating backbencher for FFS.

Check out my YouTube channel!

On the plus side for May, she’s untouchable by her own party for a year.

On the negative side, that’s not overwhelming and will give Labour hope that there would be some Tory rebels in a motion of no confidence. And with May staying, the DUP hold her future in their hands.

Do they even need the DUP. If even a tenth of those 117 Tories vote against her she's gone.

Over to Corbyn now then to get the timing right for a no confidence vote. Personally I think he should strike tomorrow before things are allowed to settle.

True, I would imagine the majority of them will put party before anything else though.

Have the DUP said anything since the vote result? Not watching it live here.

52% means the people have empathitically decided but 63%-odd is not definitive and May therefore has to stand down.
