He’s playing dumb on purpose surely. He has to know that the idea of this deal is that once agreed we can negotiate a Canada plus 1 a billion pluses deal during the transition period. Which is the whole point of the withdrawal agreement.

Saying that Corbyn doesn’t even seem to realise that this is only the withdrawal agreement either.

Kind of makes me wonder. Did Cameron over estimate their support, and called a referendum to quell this wing of his party?

Might be worth thinking about if they don't reach 48 when the agreement (likely) gets turned down.

I always felt that he was pandering the a very small section of his party and it seems to be correct. Makes him even more of a twat.

Personally I blame the lib dems for agreeing to a flawed AV referendum that emboldened Cameron to hold the EU referendum thinking it'd be another easy win

(I don't really it is literally all his fault)

The ERG!
They’ve pissed and moaned for two years but when it’s come for the time to do something (from their perspective) they’ve been exposed for what they are - loudmouth malcontents without any real courage in their convictions.
May has shown more balls than any of them.

I don't think it really says anything about May - it just shows that for how much the media pushes and shows the loudmouth ERGs, and how much power they believe they have, they don't actually wield it. Very embarrassing for them in a face of what is the exact anthithesis of their raison d'etre.

This way both May AND the ERG get embarassed this week. Win-win.

I lovw how Brexit is just one big jargon-off. Take all the jargon away - Canada +++, hard, soft, backstops, transition deals, withdrawal agreements....and you see how truly pointless it is. Leave something to have less say and less money.

I enjoy it tbh. We’ve always been our own worst enemies as a party.

Like cats fighting in a sack.

Please say that will be released and made public.

Also, strawberry float the ERG. To think we fund those banana splits (among others of course).
