My favorite comment

Is there a more fitting depiction of Brexit than this? Theresa May failing to hit a deadline of her own choosing because of Cabinet infighting.

Well since Theresa May has shown she'll do literally anything in the pursuit of power, I imagine her bifter now resembles a blancmange which has been dropped on the floor.

I can’t imagine why May would think the cabinet meeting would be so short that she could give a speech to the nation at 5pm.

I wonder if the Cabinet have basically told May to strawberry float off and she doesn't really want to go and make a statement to that effect.

Ok, it looks like what's happening is that there will be a Press Statement in which May makes a statement, but there will not be a Press Conference where she answers questions from journalists.

Yeah, press conference cancelled, statement outside No 10 still happening:
There has been confusion outside Downing Street about whether the Prime Minister will speak.

It has now been confirmed there will be a short statement made by Theresa May.

However, the press conference has been cancelled.

Downing Street has said Mrs May will make a statement in the street outside No 10 following the conclusion of the Cabinet meeting.

I doubt it. They're very cagey about releasing anything to do with Brexit, look at the fiasco with all the impact reports.
