I think the majority of people who voted leave won't change there kind if there is a second referendum, you only have to go on local Facebook group's to see that as I have done tonight.

We all have our opinions and often people don't change them

Peston

I am getting very strong signals that in the UK we have been focussing on the wrong ERG amendment in respect of damage to Theresa May’s Brexit plans.

It is the one that rules out even a temporary separate customs arrangement for Northern Ireland that is causing acute anxiety among Brexit negotiators.

Because they think it destroys the backstop clause for Northern Ireland, regarded as the guarantee there’ll be no hard border with the Republic.

That in turn would put in jeopardy the entire Withdrawal Agreement - which if it collapsed would lead to a no-deal Brexit.

In Brussels they are concerned that May has been out-maneuvered by Jacob Rees-Mogg and the Brexiters of the ERG, many of whom would prefer a hard Brexit to any other outcome.

Obviously May believes alternative UK-wide backstop proposal can be sold to the rest of the EU. But my sources say that is just wrong.

They would say that. But this is messy.

I would change my mind if this government is still in charge of negotiations. Plus, anyone who is 18/19yrs old was not allowed to vote before, and they'd lean heavily toward remain. It was close enough that that alone could swing it.

These results are like the end of a days AYAW. Everyone agrees to vote a certain way and then the results come in and don’t match up

You don't need a majority of people to change their mind. One in 25 would do it.

Also, Facebook groups are not the best place to do opinion polls.

You voted for it.

No I didn’t

So the EU and Japan have just signed a bilateral trade deal that eliminates almost all tariffs on goods. Looks like we will have a deal similar to Japan’s by the end of the negotiations the way we are going.

Well yeah more than likely. I was just being optimistic.

Interesting how quickly they’ve negotiated this Japan deal though. Shows how a basic deal can be done well.

Didn't they begin negotiating in 2012?

They did. Hopefully this removes customs charges from Japan!

This is something that the government was defeated on, and potentially means that the government have now legally obligated themselves to join the EEA.
