"For now" - Labour should call for the confidence vote when she inevitably fails to deliver what the DUP want.

How can you run a country with the support of only 200 MPs?

Weird how these people are complaining about the result, thought it was a case of 'you lost get over it' with voting results?

Three main factions (hard Brexit, soft Brexit, remain) in a vote with two choices. Two factions on one side garner a narrow 52-48 win - absolutely clear message sent by the electorate which must be respected at all costs.

Three main factions ("on the payroll" ministers, pro-May, anti-May) in a vote with two choices. Two factions on one side garner a nearly 2/3 majority in favour of PM - clear that May has lost and must go.

Funny maths there.

They think they are on the right side of history. When what they are advocating has pushed us into a national crisis, where we are making contingency plans to have adequate food and medicine supplies. Cute.

They think it would have all gone smoothly if Remainers had just believed more. Brexit is basically a religion to these people, all you need is belief and a willingness to ignore all contrary information.

And when it all goes wrong? It’ll be the fault of the Irish, the EU, the Remainers and the Prime Minister that is attempting to shoot the country in the kneecaps rather than in the head.

I can see why people were fooled into voting for this gooseberry fool in 2016, but I have pretty much zero respect for anybody that still tries to defend this bollocks.

A religion is a good analogy, I have two people on Facebook who have increasingly become more and more vocal about being pro Brexit over the past few years. Initially it was just comments here and there. Now it’s the constant posting of factually incorrect or fake stories about Brexit, the EU or Islam. What amazes me is that it’s blind faith. No attempt to question it, they just see the words think ‘oh my god’ and repost it. I can guarantee though that they don’t do this with other parts of their lives.

Both are also well educated and in decent jobs. One works for the Mercedes F1 team in brixworth and I’m pretty confident they need a decent deal and agreements to keep the business running without job loses.

I should also add that they’ve both started posting tommy Robinson stuff as well.

Just seen this on Facebook, not sure if it’s a wind up or an actual opinion.

The EU and other proposed unions such as the north american union, are stepping stones towards a single global government (new world order). One currency, one army, no existence of nations/borders, no culture/identity, the very few having all the wealth and everyone else just slaves to the system, basically Orwell's 1984. The last thing the EU want is for us to leave and other nations to do the same, so they're making Brexit as difficult and as expensive as possible. They have no interest in nations being free and self governing so f'em!

Even if it is a wind up, there are plenty of people out there that do believe that sort of bollocks.

Let’s say it is true, why would a one nation world need an army? Why wouldn’t a one nation world have a culture? Why would powerful nations like America, China and Russia give up their power to become part of a one nation world? Has the writer of that drivel ever read 1984, because that book doesn’t describe a world with only one army and no borders. And if the UK leaves and the rest of the world joins together as one great supernation, how long does the writer think we will last as the last plucky little independent state?

Former Northern Ireland Secretary Owen Paterson calls on the Chancellor Philip Hammond to resign after comments he made about Conservative Brexiteers.

Ahead of yesterday's vote of confidence on Theresa May's leadership, Mr Hammond said the ballot would "flush out the extremists" in the party.

But speaking to BBC Two's Politics Live, Mr Paterson says: "The person who should go frankly is the chancellor [for] calling people like me and Liam (Halligan) and 17.4 million people ‘extremists’.”

How the EU members are reacting:

Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, arriving at the EU summit, insists the UK withdrawal deal cannot be renegotiated.

But there is still room for a discussion, he tells reporters.

"I have the impression that MPs think it is a bad deal. I must stress that it is a good deal. What can we do? We can still negotiate with [Theresa] May.

"Overall we can still work on details but we cannot start negotiating again."

Referring to the controversial backstop for the Northern Ireland border, he says: "It's not there because we imposed it, it's about the Good Friday Agreement. It's there because we respect Good Friday. A no-deal Brexit is a very bad solution."

Although the withdrawal agreement is "set in stone", the EU should explore what other reassurances it can give the UK over the Irish backstop, the Finnish minister for European affairs says.

Sampo Terho tells BBC Radio 4's World at One: “If other reassurances can be given then we should explore the possibilities."

However he says the backstop is a last resort and not supposed to be used.

"I’m not sure there’s any reassurance that could be any more binding than that," he adds.

May is a great leader - says Dutch PM. Labour should show respect.

"I feel respect, I admire her tenacity, she's a great leader and when I saw some of the Labour people laughing at her when she said she had listened I thought that was not very British"

If he thinks that there are 17.4 million people in his party then he probably is an extremist.
