Still a more productive use of time that David Davis' entire ministerial career.

It’s telling that the hard Brexit/no deal supporters are all stashing money abroad or in gold. It’s almost like they know how bad it’ll be and are planning to make themselves richer.....

I can picture it in 10-15 years when it comes out that this whole thing, the entire Brexit waste of time and money, was nothing but a criminal conspiracy to make ludicrous amounts of cash money for these utter banana splits.

Financially I haven’t. I don’t really have any money to move into other currencies/gold.

I have taken Irish citizenship though, it probably will never be very useful (other than for using EU customs queues at airports) but at least I have the option of fleeing abroad when Britain goes fully into The Road.

I moved to France. Most of my money is still in the UK but I'll be moving it over soon

I've started being much more hands on with my pension, looking at where it is being invested and making adjustments based on predictions of what markets are going to benefit from the various potential forms of Brexit.

If nothing else it made me realise that the "safe" default option that our companies pension provider sticks people in was actually performing terribly and I've missed out on several years of decent growth as a result. :fp:

I have been putting money away. Money I would have rather used as a mortgage overpayment, but it's there all the same.

So I have a bit to keep me going if things go tits up with my job. I'm in a better position than a lot of people. Just hope my job doesn't go belly up, because I'm kind of pushing beyond my actual qualifications in that. It would be difficult getting something comparable. I'm not really adverse to doing menial jobs though. Money is money.

It's hilarious though, any financial plans I've had in the past has been strawberry floated by situational things. A lot years ago, I put money into an investment thing with the bank. strawberry floating recession happened and I made about 3 quid from it

I work with a chap who couldn’t be more Brexit. He’ll come out with the odd George Soros remark, or say the EU-SSR, and the other day I found out he’s leaving.
Asked him what he’s going to do.
He’s moving to France to run a B&B.

To be honest at first I thought he was strawberry floating with me. Then when it dawned on me he was serious I didn’t know what to say.
You know those people who are very vocal about their opinions and everyone just tries to ignore it, pretending they don’t hear because they’ll get drawn into it, he’s one of them.
So I knew I couldn’t say anything because he’ll get typically aggressive and fly off on one.
I’m just glad he’s going.

Could I get an EU passport through an italian relative? It would be from my Nan who passed away a few years ago so I'm not sure if that'll count, she moved to England when she was 18 and never renounced her Italian citizenship I don't think. The passport thing was something I planned to look in to more if Brexit really did go to gooseberry fool.

I was thinking about moving to somewhere like Ireland as it's English speaking  I'm not sure of the rent cost there but my plan was to rent my house in Essex and use those funds to either rent a place there, or if I'm stuck in the UK... Scotland/NE. I could semi retire and my little side business would pay for food/spending money.

I keep meaning to check up on mine. I locked out my account a few months ago when I did try to log in to check :fp:  I don't think it's going to be great though as my pension is invested in an ethical pot so the returns aren't going to be good as say selling weapons to Saudi Arabia to kill infants

Different countries have different requirements for that sort of thing, some dont allow dual citizenship, some only allow children (rather than grandchildren) to become citizens, some require you to live in the country. Best to look into it yourself and see what you need to do, they should have some kind of citizens information site that outlines the qualifying criteria.
