Was just flicking through the TV and the Channel 5 Jeremy Vine show was talking about no deal. A leave supporting woman had called in and said we should get out with no deal because Europe buys a lot from us and that there were loads of fears over the millennium bug that never came true.



Part of me thinks we should have an apocalyptic Brexit just to show these moronic banana splits that warnings are there for a reason. Getting a halfway decent deal will just mean in 20 years these twats will be saying “see nothing happened!” while ignoring all the work that went in to stopping it being disastrous.

I went to see a family member yesterday and Brexit came up. We should have left immediately apparently. Also spoke to another guy at the weekend in the pub who basically accused me of national betrayal. He asked me how my grandfathers would feel about my opinion.

This is the reason why the country is going to be strawberry floated.

As someone who works in tech this really grinds my gears. The millennium bug turning out the way it did was the result of a great deal of hard work fixing the problems of two digit dates in software of all kinds. Yes it was probably overhyped in the media, but it wasn't nothing.

The grandparent thing is interesting. I had a german nan. My grandad met her over in Germany after the war. She moved him and they were married for 60 years. Whenever someone says that to me i remind them of my family situation. And the fact they're only english because they were lucky enough to fall out their moms legs here.

The problem is that the general public don't see/ or really care about a lot of stuff that happens. Like all the work around the millennium bug or most of the stuff government does. It leads to a load of stupid ideas.

I suspect Spain were just waiting for the right time. They let everything focus on Ireland, let the clock run down, now they can throw Gibraltar into the works and try to make the UK panic and just give in to whatever Spain wants to get things over the line.
