Even though I don't drink, this really annoys. Whenever make up one of these new rules I feel like the walls around me move in a few more centimeters.

To be honest I can't remember the last time I saw a happy hour at a pub. It wouldn't make much difference, and the fact that a lot of people still drink at pubs and stuff shows that they're not concerned about prices, considering a £2.70 pint would cost around £1.10 at a supermarket.

It's not just happy hour, it's drink promotions in general, your cheap drinks nights are over sunshine.

Meh. If you're getting pissed at five in the evening because you're too tight to spend full whack on a pint then this law is the least of your problems.

I too have never seen anywhere with a happy hour. It's just how they are trying to ban everything... :?

No seriously what is happy hours? I've never come across any discounts in London on drinks ever.

I saw it in the movies once. I think it was set in the Fifties. But I've never seen a real live example of happy hour.

They still have them in a few pubs around here. It's an hour where drinks all cost less. Normally early evening to get the punters in early.

I thought Pubs were already in dire straights, isnt there a stat where about 40 a week are closing down. I am sure all the Publicans will be delighted they are not allowed to encourage people through their doors with offers and "sales" like the rest of the retail world.

I don't believe the statistic because I've only ever seen it reported in a tabloid and there's been nothing substantial to back it up.
