To quote the makers of the game:

Broforce Broscription wrote:Broforce is a co-operative patriotism simulation. You play as 80's and 90's action heroes waging war against terror in almost entirely destructible nostalgic settings.
While superficially a run 'n gun in the vein of Metal Slug, Broforce's reactive environment encourages tactical play. Each bro out of the 15 the game currently features (with many more to come) has distinctive attacks and special abilities, and, aside from spraying terrorist blood across the landscape, mastering all these abilities is one of Broforce's core pleasures.
In Broforce death is instant and often surprising, but this is balanced by the incompetence of the enemy. The explosions (which are numerous) often result in unpredictable chain reactions, but this shouldn't discourage you from permanently holding down your trigger finger. Yelling "'Murica!" while you do so is optional.

I've seen a few mentions of this on here and noticed that there's no official thread despite Micky(err, Mocky)'s Expendables 3 tie in game. Anyway, here's the BROFFICIAL INFO on Broforce, the greatest game for 80's action aficionados currently in existence:

Yeah, as the OP mentioned, Expendabros is a free standalone demo which also happens to be the best thing the Expendables franchise has ever produced. Check it out!

Also coming to PS4 and Vita, once it's done. That said, the version that's out on Steam & Humble right now is pretty damn awesome.

Such little discussion. :(

Made my girlfriend buy the double pack for us immediately after playing Expendabros. Such a good game. Ash is by far the best bro.

Completed the Expendabros freebie with a mate last week. Now that I've figured out I can plug my laptop into my TV with an HDMI cable I've bought Broforce so we can do it all in blazing 50" glory :datass:

Yes mate! When the full game is released I'll be hooking up to my 42 incher for some explosive action. I'll probably try and pull in a couple of mates from somewhere as well.

It's unbelievable how many people on here love 80s action films and don't know or care about Broforce. But you're not right - Ash is quality but Bro in Black is the best bro. The destructive power of the noisy cricket is just mental.

As i said in the other thread i love bro force, i played the beta a load before it was on steam so went through quite a bit of the game. I haven't played it further since the updates which i hear are good on steam so need to get back into it and start through the levels again.

Woah, didn't realise how short the campaign was! I know its early access and all...

Played a good few customer missions. Mook Island or something is really good, very difficult. Though I get killed more by my allies than the enemies in co-op. :fp: Can't wait until the game's in beta, no doubt there will be a random mission generator and loads of different tile sets.

It's due out this year, I'd expect it to be around holiday season sort of time though.

I blasted through it in a couple of hours with Banjo on Tuesday - it's not even especially difficult but it is only beta gameplay so I'd imagine that the final game will be a hell of a lot longer. Hopefully upwards of 100 levels. They've been working on it for a couple of years now as well. I'm hoping for a lot more bros as well - Chev Brolios and Brodator for a start.

It's a tremendous game. Fun enough in single player but multiplayer is absolute anarchy, even with just two players. At one point I commandeered a mech and laid waste to the level, Corazon could barely finish it as there were so few platforms to jump onto.

Needs Bro Dynamite.

They need to fit in Josh Brolin purely because of his name.

I maintain my stance that it's fun but only in short bursts. Was a lot more fun in two player co-op. I'd like an option to keep your current character when you unlock someone instead of the inherent risk of chucking away Bro Dredd/Brobocop/Bro Plissken/Anybody else for MacBrover (which is a gooseberry fool name for a gooseberry fool character. Brogyver would be a less gooseberry fool name for an equally gooseberry fool character). Mind you, it does add an extra layer of 'lulz' when you hear BuffaLOL swear because he had Brobocop, and is now stuck with MacBrover :slol:

Man, I straight up hate that auto switching thing they've got going on. But other than that, what a game. Funny as hell, insane action. The user levels are awesome, remember that Metal Gear one, Wuiji?

You're both probably gooseberry fool with him. I took down the last boss of story mode with Macbrover, no problems. The only one I really dislike is Cherry Broling - her leg gun is a pain to use in some situations.

I'll need to get involved with the user created levels when I can.

It's not that he's hard to play with, he's just nowhere near as fun as literally everybody else I've played as so far. And in a game where there's nothing other than the fun factor, being stuck with arguably the least fun character is a ballache.

Either way, doesn't matter. Because Nidhogg is so much better.

Nidhogg is a completely different game.
